1  Paul,³⁹⁷² an apostle⁶⁵² of Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ by²⁵⁹⁶ the commandment²⁰⁰³ of God²³¹⁶ our²²⁵⁷ Savior,⁴⁹⁹⁰ and²⁵³² Lord²⁹⁶² Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ which is our²²⁵⁷ hope;¹⁶⁸⁰

1  우리 구주 하나님G2316과 우리 소망이신 그리스도G5547 예수의G2424 명령을 따라 그리스도G5547 예수의G2424 사도 된 바울은

1  Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ according to the command of God our Savior, and of the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope,

1  우리 구주이신 하나님(야훼와)과 우리의 소망이신 주(아도나이H136) 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(마쉬악G5547)의 명령에 따라 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(마쉬악)의 사도가 된 바울은,

2  Unto Timothy,⁵⁰⁹⁵ my own¹¹⁰³ son⁵⁰⁴³ in¹⁷²² the faith:⁴¹⁰² Grace,⁵⁴⁸⁵ mercy,¹⁶⁵⁶ and peace,¹⁵¹⁵ from⁵⁷⁵ God²³¹⁶ our²²⁵⁷ Father³⁹⁶² and²⁵³² Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ our²²⁵⁷ Lord.²⁹⁶²

2  믿음 안에서 참 아들 된 디모데에게 편지하노니 하나님G2316 아버지와 그리스도G5547 예수G2424 우리 주께G2962 로부터 은혜와 긍휼과 평강이 네게 있을지어다

2  to Timothy, my own son in the faith. Grace, mercy and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

2  믿음 안에서 나의 아들 된 디모데에게 편지하노니, 하나님(야훼) 우리 아버지와 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(마쉬악) 우리 주(아도나이)로부터 은혜와 자비와 평강이 있을지어다.

3  As²⁵³¹ I besought³⁸⁷⁰ thee⁴⁵⁷¹ to abide still⁴³⁵⁷ at¹⁷²² Ephesus,²¹⁸¹ when I went⁴¹⁹⁸ into¹⁵¹⁹ Macedonia,³¹⁰⁹ that²⁴⁴³ thou mightest charge³⁸⁵³ some⁵¹⁰⁰ that they teach no other doctrine,^{2085, 3361}

3  내가 마게도냐로 갈 때에 너를 권하여 에베소에 머물라 한 것은 어떤 사람들을 명하여 다른 교훈을 가르치지 말며

3  Even as I begged you to remain at Ephesus, when I was going to Macedonia, that you might charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

3  내가 마케도니아로 가면서 너로 하여금 에베소에 머무르라고 권면한 것은 네가 어떤 사람들을 명하여 그들로 다른 교리를 가르치지 못하게 하고

4  Neither³³⁶⁶ give heed⁴³³⁷ to fables³⁴⁵⁴ and²⁵³² endless⁵⁶² genealogies,¹⁰⁷⁶ which³⁷⁴⁸ minister³⁹³⁰ questions,²²¹⁴ rather³¹²³ than²²²⁸ godly²³¹⁶ edifying³⁶²² which³⁵⁸⁸ is in¹⁷²² faith:⁴¹⁰² so do.

4  신화와 끝없는 족보에 착념치 말게 하려 함이라 이런 것은 믿음 안에 있는 하나님의 경륜을 이룸보다 도리어 변론을 내는 것이라

4  nor to give heed to fables and endless genealogies (which provide doubts rather than the nurture of God in faith).

4  꾸며낸 이야기와 끝없는 족보에 몰두하지 못하게 하려 함이니, 이런 것은 믿음 안에 있는 경건한 세움보다는 오히려 의문을 일으킴이라.

5  Now¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ end⁵⁰⁵⁶ of the³⁵⁸⁸ commandment³⁸⁵² is²⁰⁷⁶ charity²⁶ out of¹⁵³⁷ a pure²⁵¹³ heart,²⁵⁸⁸ and²⁵³² of a good¹⁸ conscience,⁴⁸⁹³ and²⁵³² of faith⁴¹⁰² unfeigned:⁵⁰⁵

5  경계의 목적은 청결한 마음과 선한 양심과 거짓이 없는 믿음으로 나는 사랑이거늘

5  But the end of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and a good conscience, and faith unfeigned,

5  이제, 계명의 목적은 순수한 마음과 선한 양심과 가식없는 믿음에서 나오는 사랑이거늘

6  From which³⁷³⁹ some⁵¹⁰⁰ having swerved⁷⁹⁵ have turned aside¹⁶²⁴ unto¹⁵¹⁹ vain jangling;³¹⁵⁰

6  사람들이 이에서 벗어나 헛된 말에 빠져

6  from which some, having swerved, have turned aside to foolish talking,

6   어떤 사람들은 이런 것들에서 벗어나서 헛된 언쟁에 빠져

7  Desiring²³⁰⁹ to be¹⁵¹¹ teachers of the law;³⁵⁴⁷ understanding⁽³⁵³⁹⁾ neither³³⁸³ what³⁷³⁹ they say,³⁰⁰⁴ nor³³⁸³ whereof^{4012, 5101} they affirm.¹²²⁶

7  율법의 선생이 되려 하나 자기의 말하는 것이나 자기의 확증하는 것도 깨닫지 못하는도다

7  desiring to be teachers of the law, neither understanding what they say nor that which they affirm.

7   율법 선생이 되고자 하나 자기가 말하는 것이나 주장하는 것에 대해서도 이해하지 못하느니라.

8  But¹¹⁶¹ we know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ law³⁵⁵¹ is good,²⁵⁷⁰ if¹⁴³⁷ a man⁵¹⁰⁰ use⁵⁵³⁰ it⁸⁴⁶ lawfully;³⁵⁴⁵

8  그러나 사람이 율법을 법있게 쓰면 율법은 선한 것인줄 우리는 아노라

8  But we know that the law is good if a man uses it lawfully,

8   그러나 사람이 율법을 합법적으로만 사용하면 율법이 선한 것인 줄 아노라.

9  Knowing¹⁴⁹² this,⁵¹²⁴ that³⁷⁵⁴ the law³⁵⁵¹ is not³⁷⁵⁶ made²⁷⁴⁹ for a righteous man,¹³⁴² but¹¹⁶¹ for the lawless⁴⁵⁹ and²⁵³² disobedient,⁵⁰⁶ for the ungodly⁷⁶⁵ and²⁵³² for sinners,²⁶⁸ for unholy⁴⁶² and²⁵³² profane,⁹⁵² for murderers of fathers³⁹⁶⁴ and²⁵³² murderers of mothers,³³⁸⁹ for manslayers,⁴⁰⁹

9  알 것은 이것이니 법은 옳은 사람을 위하여 세운 것이 아니요 오직 불법한 자와 복종치 아니하는 자며 경건치 아니한 자와 죄인이며 거룩하지 아니한 자와 망령된 자며 아비를 치는 자와 어미를 치는 자며 살인하는 자며

9  knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous one, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

9  알 것은 이것이니, 율법은 의로운 사람을 위하여 제정된 것이 아니라, 불법자들과, 순종하지 않는 자들과, 경건치 않은 자들과, 죄인들과, 거룩하지 않은 자들과, 속된 자들과, 아비를 죽이는 자들과, 어미를 죽이는 자들과, 살인자들과

10  For whoremongers,⁴²⁰⁵ for them that defile themselves with mankind,⁷³³ for menstealers,⁴⁰⁵ for liars,⁵⁵⁸³ for perjured persons,¹⁹⁶⁵ and²⁵³² if there be any¹⁵³⁶ other thing²⁰⁸⁷ that is contrary⁴⁸⁰ to sound⁵¹⁹⁸ doctrine;¹³¹⁹

10  음행하는 자며 남색하는 자며 사람을 탈취하는 자며 거짓말하는자며 거짓 맹세하는 자와 기타 바른 교훈을 거스리는 자를 위함이니

10  for fornicators, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and anything else that is contrary to sound doctrine,

10  음행하는 자들과, 남자로 자신을 더럽히는 자들과, 유괴하는 자들과, 거짓말하는 자들과, 거짓되이 맹세하는 자들과 그 밖에 건전한 교리에 역행하는 것들을 위함이니

11  According²⁵⁹⁶ to the³⁵⁸⁸ glorious¹³⁹¹ gospel²⁰⁹⁸ of the³⁵⁸⁸ blessed³¹⁰⁷ God,²³¹⁶ which³⁷³⁹ was committed⁴¹⁰⁰ to my trust.¹⁴⁷³

11  이 교훈은 내게 맡기신 바 복되신 하나님의G2316 영광의 복음을 좇음이니라

11  according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

11  이는 복되신 하나님(엘로힘)의 영광스러운 복음에 따른 것이며, 이 복음은 내게 맡겨진 것이라.

12  And²⁵³² I thank^{2192, 5485} Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ Jesus²⁴²⁴ our²²⁵⁷ Lord,²⁹⁶² who hath enabled¹⁷⁴³ me,³¹⁶⁵ for that³⁷⁵⁴ he counted²²³³ me³¹⁶⁵ faithful,⁴¹⁰³ putting⁵⁰⁸⁷ me into¹⁵¹⁹ the ministry;¹²⁴⁸

12  나를 능하게 하신 그리스도G5547 예수G2424 우리 주께G2962 내가 감사함은 나를 충성되이 여겨 내게 직분을 맡기심이니

12  And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who strengthened me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry--

12   나는 내게 능력 주신 그리스도(마쉬악) 예수(야슈아) 우리 주(아도나이)께 감사하노니, 이는 그 분께서 나를 신실하게 여기셔서 내게 직분을 맡기심이라.

13  Who was⁵⁶⁰⁷ before⁴³⁸⁶ a blasphemer,⁹⁸⁹ and²⁵³² a persecutor,¹³⁷⁶ and²⁵³² injurious:⁵¹⁹⁷ but²³⁵ I obtained mercy,¹⁶⁵³ because³⁷⁵⁴ I did⁴¹⁶⁰ it ignorantly⁵⁰ in¹⁷²² unbelief.⁵⁷⁰

13  내가 전에는 훼방자요 핍박자요 포행자이었으나 도리어 긍휼을 입은 것은 내가 믿지 아니할 때에 알지 못하고 행하였음이라

13  the one who before was a blasphemer and a persecutor and insolent. But I obtained mercy, because being ignorant, I did it in unbelief.

13 전에는 내가 하나님을 모독하는 자요, 박해하는 자요, 중상하는 자였으나 오히려 자비를 입은 것은 내가 믿지 아니하였을 때 모르고 행하였음이라.

14  And¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ grace⁵⁴⁸⁵ of our²²⁵⁷ Lord²⁹⁶² was exceeding abundant⁵²⁵⁰ with³³²⁶ faith⁴¹⁰² and²⁵³² love²⁶ which³⁵⁸⁸ is in¹⁷²² Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ Jesus.²⁴²⁴

14  우리 주의G2962 은혜가 그리스도G5547 예수G2424 안에 있는 믿음과 사랑과 함께 넘치도록 풍성하였도다

14  And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

14   우리 주(아도나이)의 은혜가 그리스도(마쉬악) 예수(야슈아) 안에 있는 믿음과 사랑과 더불어 넘치도록 풍성하였도다.

15  This is a faithful⁴¹⁰³ saying,³⁰⁵⁶ and²⁵³² worthy⁵¹⁴ of all³⁹⁵⁶ acceptation,⁵⁹⁴ that³⁷⁵⁴ Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ Jesus²⁴²⁴ came²⁰⁶⁴ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ world²⁸⁸⁹ to save⁴⁹⁸² sinners;²⁶⁸ of whom³⁷³⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ chief.⁴⁴¹³

15  미쁘다 모든 사람이 받을 만한 이 말이여 그리스도G5547 예수께서G2424 죄인을 구원하시려고 세상에 임하셨다 하였도다 죄인 중에 내가 괴수니라

15  Faithful is the Word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

15 그리스도(마쉬악) 예수(야슈아)께서 죄인들을 구원하시려고 세상에 오셨다는 이 말씀은 신실하며, 온전히 받아들이기에 합당하도다. 죄인들 중에서 내가 우두머리라.

16  Howbeit²³⁵ for this cause^{1223, 5124} I obtained mercy,¹⁶⁵³ that²⁴⁴³ in¹⁷²² me¹⁶⁹⁸ first⁴⁴¹³ Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ might show forth¹⁷³¹ all³⁹⁵⁶ longsuffering,³¹¹⁵ for⁴³¹⁴ a pattern⁵²⁹⁶ to them which should hereafter³¹⁹⁵ believe⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁹⁰⁹ him⁸⁴⁶ to¹⁵¹⁹ life²²²² everlasting.¹⁶⁶

16  그러나 내가 긍휼을 입은 까닭은 예수G2424 그리스도께서G5547 내게 먼저 일체 오래 참으심을 보이사 후에 주(그분을)를 믿어 영생 얻는 자들에게 본이 되게 하려 하심이니라

16  But for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, as a pattern to those being about to believe on Him to life everlasting.

16  그러나 내가 자비를 입은 것은 이 때문이니, 곧 먼저 내 안에서 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(하 마쉬악)께서 온전한 오래 참으심을 보여 주셔서 후에 그를 믿고 영생을 얻는 자들에게 본이 되게 하려 하심이니라.

17  Now¹¹⁶¹ unto the³⁵⁸⁸ King⁹³⁵ eternal,¹⁶⁵ immortal,⁸⁶² invisible,⁵¹⁷ the only³⁴⁴¹ wise⁴⁶⁸⁰ God,²³¹⁶ be honor⁵⁰⁹² and²⁵³² glory¹³⁹¹ forever and ever.^{1519, 165, 165} Amen.²⁸¹

17  만세의 왕 곧 썩지 아니하고 보이지 아니하고 홀로 하나이신 하나님께G2316 존귀와 영광이 세세토록 있을지이다 아멘

17  Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

17  이제 영원하신 왕, 썩지 아니하시고, 보이지 아니하시고, 홀로 지혜로우신 하나님(야훼)께 존귀와 영광이 영원 무궁토록 있을지어다. 아멘.

18  This⁵⁰²⁶ charge³⁸⁵² I commit³⁹⁰⁸ unto thee,⁴⁶⁷¹ son⁵⁰⁴³ Timothy,⁵⁰⁹⁵ according²⁵⁹⁶ to the³⁵⁸⁸ prophecies⁴³⁹⁴ which went before⁴²⁵⁴ on¹⁹⁰⁹ thee,⁴⁵⁷¹ that²⁴⁴³ thou by¹⁷²² them⁸⁴⁶ mightest war⁴⁷⁵⁴ a good²⁵⁷⁰ warfare;⁴⁷⁵²

18  아들 디모데야 내가 네게 이 경계로써 명하노니 전에 너를 지도한 예언을 따라 그것으로 선한 싸움을 싸우며

18  This charge I commit to you, my son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before about you, in order that you might war a good warfare by them,

18  아들 디모데야, 내가 너에게 부탁하노니 전에 너에게 주어진 예언들을 따라 그것으로 선한 싸움을 싸우며

19  Holding²¹⁹² faith,⁴¹⁰² and²⁵³² a good¹⁸ conscience;⁴⁸⁹³ which³⁷³⁹ some⁵¹⁰⁰ having put away⁶⁸³ concerning⁴⁰¹² faith⁴¹⁰² have made shipwreck:³⁴⁸⁹

19  믿음과 착한 양심을 가지라 어떤 이들이 이 양심을 버렸고 그 믿음에 관하여는 파선하였느니라

19  holding faith and a good conscience, which some have put away and made shipwreck as to faith.

19  믿음과 선한 양심을 붙들라. 어떤 사람들은 믿음에 대한 선한 양심을 내던지므로 파선하였느니라.

20  Of whom³⁷³⁹ is²⁰⁷⁶ Hymenaeus⁵²¹¹ and²⁵³² Alexander;²²³ whom³⁷³⁹ I have delivered³⁸⁶⁰ unto Satan,⁴⁵⁶⁷ that²⁴⁴³ they may learn³⁸¹¹ not³³⁶¹ to blaspheme.⁹⁸⁷

20  그 가운데 후메내오와 알렉산더가 있으니 내가 사단에게 내어준 것은 저희로 징계를 받아 훼방하지 말게 하려 함이니라

20  Among these are Hymeneus and Alexander, whom I have delivered to Satan so that they may learn not to blaspheme.

20  그들 가운데 후메내오와 알렉산더가 있는데 내가 그들을 사탄에게 내어 준 것은, 그들로 하나님을 모독하지 못하도록 배우게 하려는 것이라.
