1  I exhort³⁸⁷⁰ therefore,³⁷⁶⁷ that, first⁴⁴¹² of all,³⁹⁵⁶ supplications,¹¹⁶² prayers,⁴³³⁵ intercessions,¹⁷⁸³ and giving of thanks,²¹⁶⁹ be made⁴¹⁶⁰ for⁵²²⁸ all³⁹⁵⁶ men;⁴⁴⁴

1  그러므로 내가 첫째로 권하노니 모든 사람을 위하여 간구와 기도와 도고와 감사를 하되

1  First of all, then, I exhort that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

1  그러므로 내가 무엇보다도 먼저 권하노니, 모든 사람을 위하여 간구와 기도와 중보와 감사를 하되

2  For⁵²²⁸ kings,⁹³⁵ and²⁵³² for all³⁹⁵⁶ that are⁵⁶⁰⁷ in¹⁷²² authority;⁵²⁴⁷ that²⁴⁴³ we may lead¹²³⁶ a quiet²²⁶³ and²⁵³² peaceable²²⁷² life⁹⁷⁹ in¹⁷²² all³⁹⁵⁶ godliness²¹⁵⁰ and²⁵³² honesty.⁴⁵⁸⁷

2  임금들과 높은 지위에 있는 모든 사람을 위하여 하라 이는 우리가 모든 경건과 단정한 중에 고요하고 평안한 생활을 하려 함이니라

2  for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

2  왕들과 권세 있는 모든 사람을 위하여 하라. 이는 우리가 모든 경건과 청렴함 가운데 평온하고 조용한 생활을 하려 함이라.

3  For¹⁰⁶³ this⁵¹²⁴ is good²⁵⁷⁰ and²⁵³² acceptable⁵⁸⁷ in the sight¹⁷⁹⁹ of God²³¹⁶ our²²⁵⁷ Savior;⁴⁹⁹⁰

3  이것이 우리 구주 하나님G2316 앞에 선하고 받을실 만한 것이니

3  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

3  이것이 우리 구주 하나님(엘로힘) 앞에 선하고 기뻐하실 만한 일이니

4  Who³⁷³⁹ will²³⁰⁹ have all³⁹⁵⁶ men⁴⁴⁴ to be saved,⁴⁹⁸² and²⁵³² to come²⁰⁶⁴ unto¹⁵¹⁹ the knowledge¹⁹²² of the truth.²²⁵

4  하나님은G3739 모든 사람이 구원을 받으며 진리를 아는데 이르기를 원하시느니라

4  who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

4    하나님께서는 모든 사람이 구원을 받고 진리의 지식에 이르기를 원하시느니라.

5  For¹⁰⁶³ there is one¹⁵²⁰ God,²³¹⁶ and²⁵³² one¹⁵²⁰ mediator³³¹⁶ between God²³¹⁶ and²⁵³² men,⁴⁴⁴ the man⁴⁴⁴ Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ Jesus;²⁴²⁴

5  하나님은G2316 한 분이시요(there is oneG1520) 또 하나님G2316과 사람 사이에 중보도G3316 한 분이시니 곧 사람이신 그리스도G5547 예수G2424라

5  For God is one, and there is one Mediator of God and of men, the Man Christ Jesus,

5  하나님(엘로힘)은 한 분이시요, 하나님(야훼와)과 사람 사이에 중보자도 한 분이시니, 곧 사람이신 그리스도(마쉬악H4899) 예수(야슈아)시라.

6  Who gave¹³²⁵ himself¹⁴³⁸ a ransom⁴⁸⁷ for⁵²²⁸ all,³⁹⁵⁶ to be testified³¹⁴² in due²³⁹⁸ time.²⁵⁴⁰

6  그가 모든 사람을 위하여 자기를 속전으로 주셨으니 기약이 이르면 증거할 것이라

6  who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

6  그가 모든 사람을 위하여 자신을 몸값으로 내어 주셨으니 때가 이르면 증거되리라.

7  Whereunto^{1519, 3739} I¹⁴⁷³ am ordained⁵⁰⁸⁷ a preacher,²⁷⁸³ and²⁵³² an apostle,⁶⁵² (I speak³⁰⁰⁴ the truth²²⁵ in¹⁷²² Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ and lie⁵⁵⁷⁴ not;)³⁷⁵⁶ a teacher¹³²⁰ of the Gentiles¹⁴⁸⁴ in¹⁷²² faith⁴¹⁰² and²⁵³² verity.²²⁵

7  이를 위하여 내가 전파하는 자와 사도로 세움을 입은 것은 참말이요 거짓말이 아니니 믿음과 진리 안에서 내가 이방인의 스승이 되었노라

7  To this I am ordained a preacher and an apostle (I speak the truth in Christ, I do not lie), a teacher of the nations, in faith and truth.

7   이를 인하여 내가 설교자와 사도로 지명을 받았으며, (내가 그리스도(마쉬악) 안에서 참을 말하고 거짓을 말하지 아니하노니,) 믿음과 진리 안에서 내가 이방인들의 선생이 되었노라.

8  I will¹⁰¹⁴ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ that men⁴³⁵ pray⁴³³⁶ every³⁹⁵⁶ where,⁵¹¹⁷ lifting up¹⁸⁶⁹ holy³⁷⁴¹ hands,⁵⁴⁹⁵ without⁵⁵⁶⁵ wrath³⁷⁰⁹ and²⁵³² doubting.¹²⁶¹

8  그러므로 각처에서 남자들이 분노와 다툼이 없이 거룩한 손을 들어 기도하기를 원하노라

8  Therefore, I desire that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

8   그러므로 나는 남자들이 성냄과 주저함이 없이, 어디서나 거룩한 손들을 들고 기도하기를 바라노라.

9  In like manner⁵⁶¹⁵ also,²⁵³² that women¹¹³⁵ adorn²⁸⁸⁵ themselves¹⁴³⁸ in¹⁷²² modest²⁸⁸⁷ apparel,²⁶⁸⁹ with³³²⁶ shamefacedness¹²⁷ and²⁵³² sobriety;⁴⁹⁹⁷ not³³⁶¹ with¹⁷²² braided hair,⁴¹¹⁷ or²²²⁸ gold,⁵⁵⁵⁷ or²²²⁸ pearls,³¹³⁵ or²²²⁸ costly⁴¹⁸⁵ array.²⁴⁴¹

9  또 이와 같이 여자들도 아담한 옷을 입으며 염치와 정절로 자기를 단장하고 땋은 머리와 금이나 진주나 값진 옷으로 하지 말고

9  In the same way also, I desire that women adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and sensibleness, not adorned with braiding, or gold, or pearls, or costly clothing,

9   이와 같이 여자들도 검소한 옷차림으로 스스로를 단장하되, 수줍음과 정숙함으로 하며, 땋은 머리나 금이나 진주나 비싼 옷으로 하지 말고,

10  But²³⁵ (which³⁷³⁹ becometh⁴²⁴¹ women¹¹³⁵ professing¹⁸⁶¹ godliness)²³¹⁷ with¹²²³ good¹⁸ works.²⁰⁴¹

10  오직 선행으로 하기를 원하라 이것이 하나님을 공경한다 하는 자들에게 마땅한 것이니라

10  but with good works, which becomes women professing godliness.

10  오직 (경건함을 고백하는 여자들에게 어울리는) 선행으로 단장하기를 바라노라.

11  Let the woman¹¹³⁵ learn³¹²⁹ in¹⁷²² silence²²⁷¹ with¹⁷²² all³⁹⁵⁶ subjection.⁵²⁹²

11  여자는 일절 순종함으로 종용히 배우라

11  Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

11  여자는 온전히 순종함으로 조용히 배우게 하라.

12  But¹¹⁶¹ I suffer²⁰¹⁰ not³⁷⁵⁶ a woman¹¹³⁵ to teach,¹³²¹ nor³⁷⁶¹ to usurp authority over⁸³¹ the man,⁴³⁵ but²³⁵ to be¹⁵¹¹ in¹⁷²² silence.²²⁷¹

12  여자의 가르치는 것과 남자를 주관하는 것을 허락지 아니하노니 오직 종용할지니라

12  But I do not allow a woman to teach, or to exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence.

12   나는 여자가 가르치는 것이나 남자에게 권위를 행사하는 것을 허락지 아니하노니 다만 조용할지니라.

13  For¹⁰⁶³ Adam⁷⁶ was first⁴⁴¹³ formed,⁴¹¹¹ then¹⁵³⁴ Eve.²⁰⁹⁶

13  이는 아담이 먼저 지음을 받고 이와가 그 후며

13  For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

13   이는 아담이 먼저 지음을 받았고, 그후에 이브며,

14  And²⁵³² Adam⁷⁶ was not³⁷⁵⁶ deceived,⁵³⁸ but¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ woman¹¹³⁵ being deceived⁵³⁸ was¹⁰⁹⁶ in¹⁷²² the transgression.³⁸⁴⁷

14  아담이 꾀임을 보지 아니하고 여자가 꾀임을 보아 죄에 빠졌음이니라

14  And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

14  또 아담이 속은 것이 아니라, 여자가 속아 범죄하였음이라.

15  Notwithstanding¹¹⁶¹ she shall be saved⁴⁹⁸² in¹²²³ childbearing,⁵⁰⁴² if¹⁴³⁷ they continue³³⁰⁶ in¹⁷²² faith⁴¹⁰² and²⁵³² charity²⁶ and²⁵³² holiness³⁸ with³³²⁶ sobriety.⁴⁹⁹⁷

15  그러나 여자들이(she shall be savedG4982) 만일 정절로써 믿음과 사랑과 거룩함에 거하면 그 해산함G5042으로 구원을 얻으리라(she shall be savedG4982)

15  But she will be kept safe through childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with sensibleness.

15   그러나 그들이 정숙함으로 믿음과 사랑과 거룩함에 계속 거하면 여자가 자녀를 낳을 때 구원을 받으리라.
