1  Thou⁴⁷⁷¹ therefore,³⁷⁶⁷ my³⁴⁵⁰ son,⁵⁰⁴³ be strong¹⁷⁴³ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ grace⁵⁴⁸⁵ that³⁵⁸⁸ is in¹⁷²² Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ Jesus.²⁴²⁴

1  내 아들아 그러므로 네가 그리스도G5547 예수G2424 안에 있는 은혜 속에서 강하고

1  Therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

1 내 아들아, 그러므로 너는 그리스도(마쉬악H4899) 예수(야슈아G2424) 안에 있는 은혜 가운데서 강건하라.

2  And²⁵³² the things that³⁷³⁹ thou hast heard¹⁹¹ of³⁸⁴⁴ me¹⁷⁰⁰ among¹²²³ many⁴¹⁸³ witnesses,³¹⁴⁴ the same⁵⁰²³ commit³⁹⁰⁸ thou to faithful⁴¹⁰³ men,⁴⁴⁴ who³⁷⁴⁸ shall be²⁰⁷¹ able²⁴²⁵ to teach¹³²¹ others²⁰⁸⁷ also.²⁵³²

2  또 네가 많은 증인 앞에서 내게 들은바를 충성된 사람들에게 부탁하라 저희가 또 다른 사람들을 가르칠 수 있으리라

2  And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

2  그리고 네가 많은 증인들 가운데서 내게 들은 것들을 신실한 사람들에게 맡기라. 그들이 또 다른 사람들을 가르칠 수 있으리라.

3  Thou⁴⁷⁷¹ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ endure hardness,²⁵⁵³ as⁵⁶¹³ a good²⁵⁷⁰ soldier⁴⁷⁵⁷ of Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ.⁵⁵⁴⁷

3  네가 그리스도G5547 예수의G2424 좋은 군사로 나와 함께 고난을 받을지니

3  Therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

3  그런즉 너는 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(마쉬악)의 훌륭한 군사로서 고난을 견뎌내라.

4  No man³⁷⁶² that warreth⁴⁷⁵⁴ entangleth himself with¹⁷⁰⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ affairs⁴²³⁰ of this life;⁹⁷⁹ that²⁴⁴³ he may please⁷⁰⁰ him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.⁴⁷⁵⁸

4  군사로 다니는 자는 자기 생활에 얽매이는 자가 하나도 없나니 이는 군사로 모집한 자를 기쁘게 하려 함이라

4  No one who wars tangles with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who chose him to be a soldier.

4  전쟁에 임하는 자는 아무도 이생의 일들에 얽매이지 아니하나니, 이는 자기를 군사로 뽑은 자를 기쁘게 하려 함이라.

5  And¹¹⁶¹ if¹⁴³⁷ a man⁵¹⁰⁰ also²⁵³² strive for masteries,¹¹⁸ yet is he not³⁷⁵⁶ crowned,⁴⁷³⁷ except³³⁶² he strive¹¹⁸ lawfully.³⁵⁴⁵

5  경기하는 자가 법대로 경기하지 아니하면 면류관을 얻지 못할 것이며

5  And also if anyone competes, he is not crowned unless he competes lawfully.

5   또 이기려고 애쓰는 사람이 규칙대로 하지 아니하면 면류관을 얻지 못하리라.

6  The husbandman¹⁰⁹² that laboreth²⁸⁷² must¹¹⁶³ be first partaker^{3335, 4413} of the³⁵⁸⁸ fruits.²⁵⁹⁰

6  수고하는 농부가 곡식을 먼저 받는 것이 마땅하니라

6  It is right for the laboring farmer to partake first of the fruits.

6  수고하는 농부가 먼저 그 소출에 동참함이 마땅하니라.

7  Consider³⁵³⁹ what³⁷³⁹ I say;³⁰⁰⁴ and¹⁰⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ Lord²⁹⁶² give¹³²⁵ thee⁴⁶⁷¹ understanding⁴⁹⁰⁷ in¹⁷²² all things.³⁹⁵⁶

7  내 말하는 것을 생각하라 주께서G2962 범사에 네게 총명을 주시리라

7  Consider what I say, and the Lord will give you understanding in all things.

7  내가 말하는 것을 숙고해 보라. 주(아도나이H136)께서 너에게 모든 일에 명철을 주시기 원하노라.

8  Remember³⁴²¹ that Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ of¹⁵³⁷ the seed⁴⁶⁹⁰ of David¹¹³⁸ was raised¹⁴⁵³ from¹⁵³⁷ the dead³⁴⁹⁸ according²⁵⁹⁶ to my³⁴⁵⁰ gospel:²⁰⁹⁸

8  나의 복음과 같이 다윗의 씨로 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살으신 예수G2424 그리스도를G5547 기억하라

8  Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel,

8 나의 복음대로 다윗의 씨인 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(하 마쉬악)께서 죽은 자들로부터 일으켜지셨음을 기억하라.

9  Wherein^{1722, 3739} I suffer trouble,²⁵⁵³ as⁵⁶¹³ an evil doer,²⁵⁵⁷ even unto³³⁶⁰ bonds;¹¹⁹⁹ but²³⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ word³⁰⁵⁶ of God²³¹⁶ is not³⁷⁵⁶ bound.¹²¹⁰

9  복음을 인하여 내가 죄인과 같이 매이는 데까지 고난을 받았으나 하나님의G2316 말씀은 매이지 아니하니라

9  in which I suffer ill as an evildoer, even to bonds. But the Word of God is not chained.

9  이 복음으로 인하여 내가 악을 행하는 자처럼 매여서까지 고난을 받고 있으나 하나님(엘로힘)의 말씀은 매이지 아니하느니라.

10  Therefore^{1223, 5124} I endure⁵²⁷⁸ all things³⁹⁵⁶ for the elect's sakes,^{1223, 3588, 1588} that²⁴⁴³ they⁸⁴⁶ may also²⁵³² obtain⁵¹⁷⁷ the salvation⁴⁹⁹¹ which³⁵⁸⁸ is in¹⁷²² Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ Jesus²⁴²⁴ with³³²⁶ eternal¹⁶⁶ glory.¹³⁹¹

10  그러므로 내가 택하신 자를 위하여 모든 것을 참음은 저희로도 그리스도G5547 예수G2424 안에 있는 구원을 영원한 영광과 함께 얻게 하려 함이로라

10  Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

10   그러므로 내가 택함받은 자들을 위하여 모든 것을 참음은 그들도 그리스도(마쉬악) 예수(야슈아) 안에 있는 구원을 영원한 영광과 함께 얻게 하려 함이라.

11  It is a faithful⁴¹⁰³ saying:³⁰⁵⁶ For¹⁰⁶³ if¹⁴⁸⁷ we be dead with⁴⁸⁸⁰ him, we shall also²⁵³² live with⁴⁸⁰⁰ him:

11  미쁘다 이 말이여 우리가 주와 함께 죽었으면 또한 함께 살 것이요

11  For faithful is the Word, for if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him.

11  이 말씀은 신실하도다. 우리가 그와 함께 죽었으면 또한 그와 함께 살리라.

12  If¹⁴⁸⁷ we suffer,⁵²⁷⁸ we shall also²⁵³² reign with⁴⁸²¹ him: if¹⁴⁸⁷ we deny⁷²⁰ him, he also²⁵⁴⁸ will deny⁷²⁰ us:²²⁴⁸

12  참으면 또한 함께 왕노릇할 것이요 우리가 주를 부인하면 주도 우리를 부인하실 것이라

12  If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.

12  우리가 참으면 우리도 그와 함께 다스릴 것이요, 우리가 그를 부인하면 그도 우리를 부인할 것이라.

13  If¹⁴⁸⁷ we believe not,⁵⁶⁹ yet he¹⁵⁶⁵ abideth³³⁰⁶ faithful:⁴¹⁰³ he cannot^{1410, 3756} deny⁷²⁰ himself.¹⁴³⁸

13  우리는 미쁨이 없을지라도 주는 일향 미쁘시니 자기를 부인하실 수 없으시리라

13  If we do not believe Him, yet He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

13 우리가 믿지 아니하여도 그는 항상 신실하시니, 그는 스스로를 부인하실 수 없음이라.

14  Of these things⁵⁰²³ put them in remembrance,⁵²⁷⁹ charging¹²⁶³ them before¹⁷⁹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Lord²⁹⁶² that they strive not about words^{3054, 3361} to no profit,^{1519, 3762, 5539} but to¹⁹⁰⁹ the subverting²⁶⁹² of the³⁵⁸⁸ hearers.¹⁹¹

14  너는 저희로 이 일을 기억하게 하여 말다툼을 하지 말라고 하나님G2962 앞에서 엄히 명하라 이는 유익이 하나도 없고 도리어 듣는 자들을 망하게 함이니라

14  Put them in memory of these things, charging them before the Lord not to dispute about words to no profit, to the subverting of the hearers.

14  사람들에게 이런 일들을 일깨워 주어 말다툼을 하지 말라고 주(아도나이) 앞에서 당부하라. 이는 아무런 유익함도 없고 오히려 듣는 자들을 파멸시킴이니라.

15  Study⁴⁷⁰⁴ to show³⁹³⁶ thyself⁴⁵⁷² approved¹³⁸⁴ unto God,²³¹⁶ a workman²⁰⁴⁰ that needeth not to be ashamed,⁴²² rightly dividing³⁷¹⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ word³⁰⁵⁶ of truth.²²⁵

15  네가 진리의 말씀을 옳게 분변하여G3718 부끄러울 것이 없는 일군으로 인정된 자로 자신을 하나님G2316 앞에 드리기를 힘쓰라G4704

15  Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

15  네가 진리의 말씀을 올바로 나누어 자신이 하나님(엘로힘) 앞에 부끄럽지 않은 일꾼으로 인정받도록 공부하라.

16  But¹¹⁶¹ shun⁴⁰²⁶ profane⁹⁵² and vain babblings:²⁷⁵⁷ for¹⁰⁶³ they will increase⁴²⁹⁸ unto¹⁹⁰⁹ more⁴¹¹⁹ ungodliness.⁷⁶³

16  망령되고 헛된 말을 버리라 저희는 경건치 아니함에 점점 나아가나니

16  But shun profane, vain babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.

16  비속하고 허황된 말장난을 버리라. 이는 그것들이 더욱 불경건함으로 나아갈 뿐임이니라.

17  And²⁵³² their⁸⁴⁶ word³⁰⁵⁶ will eat^{2192, 3542} as⁵⁶¹³ doth a canker:¹⁰⁴⁴ of whom³⁷³⁹ is²⁰⁷⁶ Hymenaeus⁵²¹¹ and²⁵³² Philetus;⁵³⁷²

17  저희 말은 독한 창질의 썩어져감과 같은데 그 중에 후메내오와 빌레도가 있느니라

17  And their word will eat like a gangrene; among whom are Hymeneus and Philetus,

17  그들의 말은 종창처럼 퍼져 나갈 것이며 그들 가운데는 후메내오와 필레토가 있느니라.

18  Who³⁷⁴⁸ concerning⁴⁰¹² the³⁵⁸⁸ truth²²⁵ have erred,⁷⁹⁵ saying³⁰⁰⁴ that the³⁵⁸⁸ resurrection³⁸⁶ is past¹⁰⁹⁶ already;²²³⁵ and²⁵³² overthrow³⁹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ faith⁴¹⁰² of some.⁵¹⁰⁰

18  진리에 관하여는 저희가 그릇되었도다 부활이 이미 지나갔다 하므로 어떤 사람들의 믿음을 무너뜨리느니라

18  who have erred concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past, and who overthrow the faith of some.

18  그들은 진리에 관해서는 정도를 벗어나서 부활이 이미 이루어졌다고 말하여 어떤 사람들의 믿음을 뒤엎고 있느니라.

19  Nevertheless³³⁰⁵ the foundation²³¹⁰ of God²³¹⁶ standeth²⁴⁷⁶ sure,⁴⁷³¹ having²¹⁹² this⁵⁰²⁶ seal,⁴⁹⁷³ The Lord²⁹⁶² knoweth¹⁰⁹⁷ them that are⁵⁶⁰⁷ his.⁸⁴⁸ And,²⁵³² Let every one³⁹⁵⁶ that nameth³⁶⁸⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ name³⁶⁸⁶ of Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ depart⁸⁶⁸ from⁵⁷⁵ iniquity.⁹³

19  그러나 하나님의G2316 견고한 터는 섰으니 인침이 있어 일렀으되 주(G2962)께서 자기 백성을 아신다 하며 또 주의G2962 이름을G3686 부르는 자마다 불의에서 떠날지어다 하였느니라

19  Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal: "The Lord knew those who are His." And, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity!"

19  그러나 하나님(엘로힘)의 기초는 확고히 서 있고 이러한 봉인이 있으니, 곧 "주(야훼)께서는 자기에게 속한 자들을 아시며 또 그리스도(야훼)의 이름을 부르는 자는 누구라도 죄악에서 떠나라."는 것이라.

20  But¹¹⁶¹ in¹⁷²² a great³¹⁷³ house³⁶¹⁴ there are²⁰⁷⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ only³⁴⁴⁰ vessels⁴⁶³² of gold⁵⁵⁵² and²⁵³² of silver,⁶⁹³ but²³⁵ also²⁵³² of wood³⁵⁸⁵ and²⁵³² of earth;³⁷⁴⁹ and²⁵³² some^{3739, 3303} to¹⁵¹⁹ honor,⁵⁰⁹² and¹¹⁶¹ some³⁷³⁹ to¹⁵¹⁹ dishonor.⁸¹⁹

20  큰 집에는 금과 은의 그릇이 있을 뿐 아니요 나무와 질그릇도 있어 귀히 쓰는 것도 있고 천히 쓰는 것도 있나니

20  But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor.

20  큰 집에는 금과 은으로 만든 그릇들 뿐만 아니라 나무와 진흙으로 만든 그릇들도 있어, 어떤 것들은 귀히 여기고 어떤 것들은 천히 여기느니라.

21  If¹⁴³⁷ a man⁵¹⁰⁰ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ purge¹⁵⁷¹ himself¹⁴³⁸ from⁵⁷⁵ these,⁵¹³⁰ he shall be²⁰⁷¹ a vessel⁴⁶³² unto¹⁵¹⁹ honor,⁵⁰⁹² sanctified,³⁷ and²⁵³² meet for the master's use,^{2173, 3588, 1203} and prepared²⁰⁹⁰ unto¹⁵¹⁹ every³⁹⁵⁶ good¹⁸ work.²⁰⁴¹

21  그러므로 누구든지 이런 것에서 자기를G1438 깨끗하게 하G1571면 귀히 쓰는 그릇이 되어 거룩하고 주인의 쓰심에 합당하며 모든 선한 일에 예비함이 되리라

21  Therefore if anyone purges himself from these, he shall be a vessel to honor, sanctified and useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

21  그러므로 이런 것들에서 자기를  깨끗하게 하는 사람은 귀한 그릇이 되어 거룩하여지고 주인이 쓰기에 합당하며 모든 선한 일을 위하여 예비되느니라.

22  Flee⁵³⁴³ also¹¹⁶¹ youthful³⁵¹² lusts:¹⁹³⁹ but¹¹⁶¹ follow¹³⁷⁷ righteousness,¹³⁴³ faith,⁴¹⁰² charity,²⁶ peace,¹⁵¹⁵ with³³²⁶ them that call on¹⁹⁴¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Lord²⁹⁶² out of¹⁵³⁷ a pure²⁵¹³ heart.²⁵⁸⁸

22  또한 네가 청년의 정욕을 피하고 주를 G2962 깨끗한 마음으로 부르는 자들과 함께 의와 믿음과 사랑과 화평을 좇으라

22  But flee youthful lusts, and follow righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

22 너는 또한 젊음의 정욕을 피하고, 오직 순수한 마음으로 주(아도나이)를 부르는 사람들과 함께 의와 믿음과 사랑과 화평을 추구하라.

23  But¹¹⁶¹ foolish³⁴⁷⁴ and²⁵³² unlearned⁵²¹ questions²²¹⁴ avoid,³⁸⁶⁸ knowing¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ they do engender¹⁰⁸⁰ strifes.³¹⁶³

23  어리석고 무식한 변론을 버리라 이에서 다툼이 나는줄 앎이라

23  But avoid foolish and unlearned questions, knowing that they give birth to strifes.

23   어리석고 무식한 언쟁을 피하라. 거기에서 다툼이 나는 것을 앎이라.

24  And¹¹⁶¹ the servant¹⁴⁰¹ of the Lord²⁹⁶² must¹¹⁶³ not³⁷⁵⁶ strive;³¹⁶⁴ but²³⁵ be¹⁵¹¹ gentle²²⁶¹ unto⁴³¹⁴ all³⁹⁵⁶ men, apt to teach,¹³¹⁷ patient,⁴²⁰

24  마땅히 주의G2962 종은 다투지 아니하고 모든 사람을 대하여 온유하며 가르치기를 잘하며 참으며

24  But the servant of the Lord must not strive, but to be gentle to all, apt to teach, patient,

24 주(야훼)의 종은 다투어서는 아니되고 모든 사람들에게 온유하며, 가르치기를 잘하고 잘 참으며

25  In¹⁷²² meekness⁴²³⁶ instructing³⁸¹¹ those that oppose themselves;⁴⁷⁵ if God peradventure^{3379, 2316} will give¹³²⁵ them⁸⁴⁶ repentance³³⁴¹ to¹⁵¹⁹ the acknowledging¹⁹²² of the truth;²²⁵

25  거역하는 자를 온유함으로 징계할지니 혹 하나님이G2316 저희에게 회개함을 주사 진리를 알게 하실까 하며

25  in meekness instructing those who oppose, if perhaps God will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth,

25 반대하는 자들을 온유함으로 바르게 잡아 주어야 하리니 그리하면 하나님(엘로힘)께서 그들에게 회개하는 마음을 주셔서 진리를 깨닫도록 하실까 함이요

26  And²⁵³² that they may recover themselves³⁶⁶ out of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ snare³⁸⁰³ of the³⁵⁸⁸ devil,¹²²⁸ who are taken captive²²²¹ by⁵²⁵⁹ him⁸⁴⁶ at¹⁵¹⁹ his¹⁵⁶⁵ will.²³⁰⁷

26  저희로 깨어 마귀의 올무에서 벗어나 하나님께 사로잡힌바 되어 그 뜻을 좇게 하실까 함이라

26  and that they awake out of the snare of the Devil, having been taken captive by him, so as to do the will of that one.

26 마귀의 뜻대로 그에게 사로잡혔던 그들이 마귀의 올무에서 깨어 나올까 함이라.
