1  Rebuke¹⁹⁶⁹ not³³⁶¹ an elder,⁴²⁴⁵ but²³⁵ entreat³⁸⁷⁰ him as⁵⁶¹³ a father;³⁹⁶² and the younger men³⁵⁰¹ as⁵⁶¹³ brethren;⁸⁰

1  늙은이를 꾸짖지 말고 권하되 아비에게 하듯하며 젊은이를 형제에게 하듯하고

1  Do not sharply rebuke an elder, but exhort as a father, and the younger ones as brothers,

1  나이 많은 이를 책망하지 말고 오히려 아버지처럼, 젊은 남자들은 형제처럼 권고하며

2  The elder women⁴²⁴⁵ as⁵⁶¹³ mothers;³³⁸⁴ the younger³⁵⁰¹ as⁵⁶¹³ sisters,⁷⁹ with¹⁷²² all³⁹⁵⁶ purity.⁴⁷

2  늙은 여자를 어미에게 하듯하며 젊은 여자를 일절 깨끗함으로 자매에게 하듯 하라

2  older women as mothers, the younger as sisters in all purity.

2   나이 많은 여인들은 어머니처럼, 젊은 여인들은 온전한 정결로써 자매처럼 권고하라.

3  Honor⁵⁰⁹¹ widows⁵⁵⁰³ that are widows⁵⁵⁰³ indeed.³⁶⁸⁹

3  참 과부인 과부를 경대하라

3  Honor widows who are widows indeed.

3   참과부인 과부들을 존경하라.

4  But¹¹⁶¹ if¹⁴⁸⁷ any⁵¹⁰⁰ widow⁵⁵⁰³ have²¹⁹² children⁵⁰⁴³ or²²²⁸ nephews,¹⁵⁴⁹ let them learn³¹²⁹ first⁴⁴¹² to show piety²¹⁵¹ at⁽²³⁹⁸⁾ home,³⁶²⁴ and²⁵³² to requite^{591, 287} their parents:⁴²⁶⁹ for¹⁰⁶³ that⁵¹²⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ good²⁵⁷⁰ and²⁵³² acceptable⁵⁸⁷ before¹⁷⁹⁹ God.²³¹⁶

4  만일 어떤 과부에게 자녀나 손자들이 있거든 저희로 먼저 자기 집에서 효를 행하여 부모에게 보답하기를 배우게 하라 이것이 하나님G2316 앞에 받으실 만한 것이니라

4  But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to be godly to their own house, and give back to their forebears what is due them; for that is good and pleasing before God.

4  만일 어떤 과부에게 자녀나 자손들이 있거든 그들로 먼저 집에서 효도를 행하여 자기 부모에게 보답하는 것을 배우게 하라. 이것이 하나님(엘로힘) 앞에 선하고 기뻐하실 만한 것이라.

5  Now¹¹⁶¹ she that is a widow⁵⁵⁰³ indeed,³⁶⁸⁹ and²⁵³² desolate,³⁴⁴³ trusteth¹⁶⁷⁹ in¹⁹⁰⁹ God,²³¹⁶ and²⁵³² continueth⁴³⁵⁷ in supplications¹¹⁶² and²⁵³² prayers⁴³³⁵ night³⁵⁷¹ and²⁵³² day.²²⁵⁰

5  참 과부로서 외로운 자는 하나님께G2316 소망을 두어 주야로 항상 간구와 기도를 하거니와

5  But she being really a widow, and having been left alone, has set her hope on God and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.

5  참과부이며 외로운 여인은 하나님(엘로힘)을 신뢰하고 밤낮 간구와 기도를 꾸준히 하지만

6  But¹¹⁶¹ she that liveth in pleasure⁴⁶⁸⁴ is dead²³⁴⁸ while she liveth.²¹⁹⁸

6  일락을 좋아하는 이는 살았으나 죽었느니라

6  But she who lives in self-pleasure has died while living.

6  향락 속에 사는 여인은 살아 있지만 죽은 것이라.

7  And²⁵³² these things⁵⁰²³ give in charge,³⁸⁵³ that²⁴⁴³ they may be⁵⁶⁰⁰ blameless.⁴²³

7  네가 또한 이것을 명하여 그들로 책망 받을 것이 없게 하라

7  And command these things so that they may be blameless.

7   이것들을 일러 주어, 그들이 비난받지 않게 하라.

8  But¹¹⁶¹ if¹⁴⁸⁷ any⁵¹⁰⁰ provide not for^{4306, 3756} his own,²³⁹⁸ and²⁵³² especially³¹²² for those of his own house,³⁶⁰⁹ he hath denied⁷²⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ faith,⁴¹⁰² and²⁵³² is²⁰⁷⁶ worse⁵⁵⁰¹ than an infidel.⁵⁷¹

8  누구든지 자기 친족 특히 자기 가족을 돌아보지 아니하면 믿음을 배반한 자요 불신 자보다 더 악한 자니라

8  But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an infidel.

8  만일 누군가가 자기 친족, 특히 자기 가족을 돌보지 않는다면 그는 믿음을 부인한 자요, 불신자보다 더 나쁜 자니라.

9  Let not³³⁶¹ a widow⁵⁵⁰³ be taken into the number²⁶³⁹ under¹⁶⁴⁰ threescore¹⁸³⁵ years²⁰⁹⁴ old, having been¹⁰⁹⁶ the wife¹¹³⁵ of one¹⁵²⁰ man,⁴³⁵

9  과부로 명부에 올릴 자는 나이 육십이 덜 되지 아니하고 한 남편의 아내이었던 자로서

9  Do not let a widow be enrolled having become less than sixty years old, the wife of one man,

9   과부로 명부에 올릴 수 있는 자는 육십 세 이하여서는 안되며, 한 남자의 아내였던 여인으로서

10  Well reported of³¹⁴⁰ for¹⁷²² good²⁵⁷⁰ works;²⁰⁴¹ if¹⁴⁸⁷ she have brought up children,⁵⁰⁴⁴ if¹⁴⁸⁷ she have lodged strangers,³⁵⁸⁰ if¹⁴⁸⁷ she have washed³⁵³⁸ the saints'⁴⁰ feet,⁴²²⁸ if¹⁴⁸⁷ she have relieved¹⁸⁸⁴ the afflicted,²³⁴⁶ if¹⁴⁸⁷ she have diligently followed¹⁸⁷² every³⁹⁵⁶ good¹⁸ work.²⁰⁴¹

10  선한 행실의 증거가 있어 혹은 자녀를 양육하며 혹은 나그네를 대접하며 혹은 성도들의 발을 씻기며 혹은 환난 당한 자들을 구제하며 혹은 모든 선한 일을 좇은 자라야 할것이요

10  well reported of for good works: if she brought up children, if she lodged strangers, if she washed the feet of saints, if she relieved the afflicted, if she followed after every good work.

10  선한 행실에 대한 좋은 평판이 있어야 하리니, 곧 자녀를 양육하였거나, 나그네들을 유숙하게 해 주었거나, 성도들의 발을 씻겼거나, 고난에 처한 사람들을 구제하였거나, 모든 선한 일을 열심히 좇아 행한 사람이라야 되리라.

11  But¹¹⁶¹ the younger³⁵⁰¹ widows⁵⁵⁰³ refuse:³⁸⁶⁸ for¹⁰⁶³ when³⁷⁵² they have begun to wax wanton against²⁶⁹¹ Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ they will²³⁰⁹ marry;¹⁰⁶⁰

11  젊은 과부는 거절하라 이는 정욕으로 그리스도를G5547 배반할 때에 시집가고자 함이니

11  But refuse younger widows, for whenever they grow lustful against Christ, they desire to marry;

11   그러나 젊은 과부들은 거절하라. 이는 그들이 정욕이 강해지면 그리스도(마쉬악H4899)를 거슬러 혼인하고자 하리니

12  Having²¹⁹² damnation,²⁹¹⁷ because³⁷⁵⁴ they have cast off¹¹⁴ their first⁴⁴¹³ faith.⁴¹⁰²

12  처음 믿음을 저버렸으므로 심판을 받느니라

13  And¹¹⁶¹ withal²⁶⁰ they learn³¹²⁹ to be idle,⁶⁹² wandering about from house to house;^{4022, 3614} and¹¹⁶¹ not³⁷⁵⁶ only³⁴⁴⁰ idle,⁶⁹² but²³⁵ tattlers⁵³⁹⁷ also²⁵³² and²⁵³² busybodies,⁴⁰²¹ speaking²⁹⁸⁰ things which they ought¹¹⁶³ not.³³⁶¹

13  또 저희가 게으름을 익혀 집집에 돌아다니고 게으를뿐 아니라 망령된 폄론을 하며 일을 만들며 마땅히 아니할 말을 하나니

13  And with it all they also learn to be idle, going around the houses; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things they ought not.

13  그들은 게으른 데 익숙하여 집집마다 돌아다니며 게으름을 피울 뿐 아니라, 또한 수다를 떨고 말참견을 하며 마땅히 해서는 아니되는 말을 하나니

14  I will¹⁰¹⁴ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ that the younger women³⁵⁰¹ marry,¹⁰⁶⁰ bear children,⁵⁰⁴¹ guide the house,³⁶¹⁶ give¹³²⁵ none³³⁶⁷ occasion⁸⁷⁴ to the³⁵⁸⁸ adversary⁴⁸⁰ to speak reproachfully.^{5484, 3059}

14  그러므로 젊은이는 시집가서 아이를 낳고 집을 다스리고 대적에게 훼방할 기회를 조금도 주지 말기를 원하노라

14  Therefore I want the younger ones to marry, bear children, guide the house, giving no occasion to the adversary because of reproach.

14 그러므로 젊은 여자들은 혼인하여 아이들을 낳고 집안 일을 돌보아서 대적에게 비방받을 기회를 조금도 주지 않기를 바라노라.

15  For¹⁰⁶³ some⁵¹⁰⁰ are already²²³⁵ turned aside¹⁶²⁴ after³⁶⁹⁴ Satan.⁴⁵⁶⁷

15  이미 사단에게 돌아간 자들도 있도다

15  For some have already turned aside after Satan.

15   이는 어떤 사람들이 이미 사탄을 따라 길을 잘못 들었음이라.

16  If any¹⁵³⁶ man⁴¹⁰³ or²²²⁸ woman that believeth⁴¹⁰³ have²¹⁹² widows,⁵⁵⁰³ let them relieve¹⁸⁸⁴ them,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² let not³³⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ church¹⁵⁷⁷ be charged;⁹¹⁶ that²⁴⁴³ it may relieve¹⁸⁸⁴ them that are widows⁵⁵⁰³ indeed.³⁶⁸⁹

16  만일 믿는 여자에게 과부 친척이 있거든 자기가 도와주고 교회로 짐지지 말게 하라 이는 참 과부를 도와주게 하려 함이니라

16  If any believing man or believing woman has widows, let them relieve them, and do not let the church be charged, so that it may relieve those who are widows indeed.

16  만일 어떤 믿는 남자나 여자에게 과부들이 있으면 그들로 그들을 도와 주어서 교회에 짐을 지우지 말지니, 이는 교회가 참과부들을 도와 주도록 하려는 것이라.

17  Let the³⁵⁸⁸ elders⁴²⁴⁵ that rule⁴²⁹¹ well²⁵⁷³ be counted worthy⁵¹⁵ of double¹³⁶² honor,⁵⁰⁹² especially³¹²² they who labor²⁸⁷² in¹⁷²² the word³⁰⁵⁶ and²⁵³² doctrine.¹³¹⁹

17  잘 다스리는 장로들을 배나 존경할 자로 알되 말씀과 가르침에 수고하는 이들을 더할 것이니라

17  Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in Word and doctrine.

17  잘 다스리는 장로들을 배나 존경할 사람으로 여기되 특별히 말씀과 교리에 수고하는 이들에게 그리할지니라.

18  For¹⁰⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ Scripture¹¹²⁴ saith,³⁰⁰⁴ Thou shalt not³⁷⁵⁶ muzzle⁵³⁹² the ox¹⁰¹⁶ that treadeth out²⁴⁸ the corn. And,²⁵³² The³⁵⁸⁸ laborer²⁰⁴⁰ is worthy⁵¹⁴ of his⁸⁴⁸ reward.³⁴⁰⁸

18  성경에 일렀으되 곡식을 밟아 떠는 소의 입에 망을 씌우지 말라 하였고 또 일군이 그 삯을 받는 것이 마땅하다 하였느니라

18  For the Scripture says, "You shall not muzzle the ox treading out grain," and, "The laborer is worthy of his reward."

18   성경이 말씀하시기를 "너는 곡식을 밟아 떠는 소에게 재갈을 물리지 말지니라."고 하였고, 또 "일꾼이 자기 삯을 받는 것은 합당하니라."고 하였느니라.

19  Against²⁵⁹⁶ an elder⁴²⁴⁵ receive³⁸⁵⁸ not³³⁶¹ an accusation,²⁷²⁴ but^{1622, 1508} before¹⁹⁰⁹ two¹⁴¹⁷ or²²²⁸ three⁵¹⁴⁰ witnesses.³¹⁴⁴

19  장로에 대한 송사는 두 세 증인이 없으면 받지 말 것이요

19  Do not receive an accusation against an elder except before two or three witnesses.

20  범죄한 자들을 모든 사람 앞에 꾸짖어 나머지 사람으로 두려워하게 하라

20  Those who sin, rebuke before all, so that the rest also may fear.

21  I charge¹²⁶³ thee before¹⁷⁹⁹ God,²³¹⁶ and²⁵³² the Lord²⁹⁶² Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ elect¹⁵⁸⁸ angels,³² that²⁴⁴³ thou observe⁵⁴⁴² these things⁵⁰²³ without⁵⁵⁶⁵ preferring one before another,⁴²⁹⁹ doing⁴¹⁶⁰ nothing³³⁶⁷ by²⁵⁹⁶ partiality.⁴³⁴⁶

21  하나님G2316과 그리스도G5547 예수G2424와 택하심을 받은 천사들 앞에서 내가 엄히 명하노니 너는 편견이 없이 이것들을 지켜 아무 일도 편벽되이 하지 말며

21  I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that you guard these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.

21 내가 하나님(엘로힘)과 주(아도나이H136) 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(마쉬악과)와 택함받은 천사들 앞에서 네게 부탁하노니, 너는 편견 없이 이것들을 지켜 아무일도 편파적으로 하지 말라.

22  Lay²⁰⁰⁷ hands⁵⁴⁹⁵ suddenly⁵⁰³⁰ on no man,³³⁶⁷ neither³³⁶⁶ be partaker²⁸⁴¹ of other men's²⁴⁵ sins:²⁶⁶ keep⁵⁰⁸³ thyself⁴⁵⁷² pure.⁵³

22  아무에게나 경솔히 안수하지 말고 다른 사람의 죄에 간섭지 말고 네 자신을 지켜 정결케 하라

22  Do not lay hands quickly on anyone, neither be partaker of the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.

22  아무에게나 경솔히 안수하지 말고, 다른 사람들의 죄들에 동참자가 되지 말며, 네 자신을 정결하게 지키라.

23  Drink no longer water,^{5202, 3371} but²³⁵ use⁵⁵³⁰ a little³⁶⁴¹ wine³⁶³¹ for thy stomach's sake^{1223, 4675, 4751} and²⁵³² thine⁴⁶⁷⁵ often⁴⁴³⁷ infirmities.⁷⁶⁹

23  이제부터는 물만 마시지 말고 네 비위(for thy stomach's sakeG1223, G4675, G4751)와G2532 자주 나는G4437 병을G769   인하여 포도주를G3631 조금씩G3641 쓰라G5530

23  Drink water no longer, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake, and for your frequent infirmities.

23  이제부터는 물만 마시지 말고 네 위장과 자주 앓는 질병을 위하여 포도주를 조금씩 쓰라.

24  Some⁵¹⁰⁰ men's⁴⁴⁴ sins²⁶⁶ are¹⁵²⁶ open beforehand,⁴²⁷¹ going before⁴²⁵⁴ to¹⁵¹⁹ judgment;²⁹²⁰ and¹¹⁶¹ some⁵¹⁰⁰ men they⁽²⁵³²⁾ follow after.¹⁸⁷²

24  어떤 사람들의 죄는 밝히 드러나 먼저 심판에 나아가고 어떤 사람들의 죄는 그 뒤를 좇나니

24  Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment. And some they also follow after.

24   어떤 사람들의 죄들은 먼저 드러나서 먼저 심판으로 나아가고 또 어떤 사람들은 그 뒤를 따르나니

25  Likewise⁵⁶¹⁵ also²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ good²⁵⁷⁰ works²⁰⁴¹ of some are²⁰⁷⁶ manifest beforehand;⁴²⁷¹ and²⁵³² they that are²¹⁹² otherwise²⁴⁷ cannot^{1410, 3756} be hid.²⁹²⁸

25  이와 같이 선행도 밝히 드러나고 그렇지 아니한 것도 숨길 수 없느니라

25  Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand, and those who are otherwise cannot be hidden.

25  이와 같이 어떤 사람들의 선행도 먼저 드러나고 그렇지 않은 자들도 숨길 수 없느니라.
