1  Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect sojourners of the Dispersion of Pontus, of Galatia, of Cappadocia, of Asia, and of Bithynia,

2  Elect¹⁵⁸⁸ according²⁵⁹⁶ to the foreknowledge⁴²⁶⁸ of God²³¹⁶ the Father,³⁹⁶² through¹⁷²² sanctification³⁸ of the Spirit,⁴¹⁵¹ unto¹⁵¹⁹ obedience⁵²¹⁸ and²⁵³² sprinkling⁴⁴⁷³ of the blood¹²⁹ of Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ:⁵⁵⁴⁷ Grace⁵⁴⁸⁵ unto you,⁵²¹³ and²⁵³² peace,¹⁵¹⁵ be multiplied.⁴¹²⁹

2  according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

2    곧 하나님(야훼) 아버지의 미리 아심을 따라 성령의 거룩케 하심을 통하여, 순종함과 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(하 마쉬악)의 피뿌림으로 택함받은 자들에게 편지하노니, 은혜와 평강이 너희에게 충만할지어다.

3  Blessed²¹²⁸ be the³⁵⁸⁸ God²³¹⁶ and²⁵³² Father³⁹⁶² of our²²⁵⁷ Lord²⁹⁶² Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ which according²⁵⁹⁶ to his⁸⁴⁸ abundant⁴¹⁸³ mercy¹⁶⁵⁶ hath begotten us again^{313, 2248} unto¹⁵¹⁹ a lively²¹⁹⁸ hope¹⁶⁸⁰ by¹²²³ the resurrection³⁸⁶ of Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ from¹⁵³⁷ the dead,³⁴⁹⁸

3  찬송하리로다 우리 주G2962 예수G2424 그리스도의G5547 아버지 하나님이G2316 그 많으신 긍휼대로 예수G2424 그리스도의G5547 죽은 자 가운데서 부활하심으로 말미암아 우리를 거듭나게 하사 산 소망이 있게 하시며

3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has regenerated us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

3   하나님(엘로힘), 곧 우리 주(아도나이) 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(하 마쉬악)의 아버지를 송축하리로다. 그 분은 그의 풍성하신 자비하심을 따라 죽은 자들로부터의 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(하 마쉬악)의 부활로 인하여 우리를 거듭나게 하사 산 소망을 갖게 하셨으며

4  To¹⁵¹⁹ an inheritance²⁸¹⁷ incorruptible,⁸⁶² and²⁵³² undefiled,²⁸³ and²⁵³² that fadeth not away,²⁶³ reserved⁵⁰⁸³ in¹⁷²² heaven³⁷⁷² for¹⁵¹⁹ you,²²⁴⁸

4  썩지 않고 더럽지 않고 쇠하지 아니하는 기업을G2817 잇게 하시나니 곧 너희를 위하여 하늘에 간직하신 것이라

4  to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, and unfading, reserved in Heaven for you

4    너희를 위하여 하늘에 썩지 않고 더럽지 않고 쇠잔하지 않는 유업을 간직해 두셨으니

5  Who are kept⁵⁴³² by¹⁷²² the power¹⁴¹¹ of God²³¹⁶ through¹²²³ faith⁴¹⁰² unto¹⁵¹⁹ salvation⁴⁹⁹¹ ready²⁰⁹² to be revealed⁶⁰¹ in¹⁷²² the last²⁰⁷⁸ time.²⁵⁴⁰

5  너희가 말세에 나타내기로 예비하신 구원을 얻기 위하여 믿음으로 말미암아 하나님의G2316 능력G1411으로 보호하심을 입었나니G5432

5  by the power of God, having been kept through faith to a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time;

5    너희는 마지막 때에 나타내려고 예비하신 구원을 얻기 위하여 믿음으로 말미암아 하나님(야훼)의 능력으로 보호받고 있느니라.

6  Wherein^{1722, 3739} ye greatly rejoice,²¹ though now⁷³⁷ for a season,³⁶⁴¹ if¹⁴⁸⁷ need be,^{1163, 2076} ye are in heaviness³⁰⁷⁶ through¹⁷²² manifold⁴¹⁶⁴ temptations:³⁹⁸⁶

6  그러므로 너희가 이제 여러 가지 시험을 인하여 잠간 근심하게 되지 않을 수 없었으나 오히려 크게 기뻐하도다

6  in which you greatly rejoice, yet a little while, if need be, grieving in manifold temptations;

6  그러므로 필요하다면 너희가 여러 가지 시험으로 잠시 슬퍼할 수 밖에 없지만 그것을 크게 기뻐하는 것은

7  That²⁴⁴³ the³⁵⁸⁸ trial¹³⁸³ of your⁵²¹⁶ faith,⁴¹⁰² being much⁴¹⁸³ more precious⁵⁰⁹³ than of gold⁵⁵⁵³ that perisheth,⁶²² though¹¹⁶¹ it be tried¹³⁸¹ with¹²²³ fire,⁴⁴⁴² might be found²¹⁴⁷ unto¹⁵¹⁹ praise¹⁸⁶⁸ and²⁵³² honor⁵⁰⁹² and²⁵³² glory¹³⁹¹ at¹⁷²² the appearing⁶⁰² of Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ:⁵⁵⁴⁷

7  너희 믿음의 시련이 불로 연단하여도 없어질 금보다 더 귀하여 예수G2424 그리스도의G5547 나타나실 때에 칭찬과 영광과 존귀를 얻게 하려함이라

7  so that the trial of your faith (being much more precious than that of gold that perishes, but being proven through fire) might be found to praise and honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

7   너희 믿음의 시련이, 불로써 단련될지라도 없어져 버리는 금보다 훨씬 더 귀하게 되어 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(하 마쉬악)께서 나타나실 때에 칭찬과 존귀와 영광을 받게 하려 함이니라.

8  Whom³⁷³⁹ having not³⁷⁵⁶ seen,¹⁴⁹² ye love;²⁵ in¹⁵¹⁹ whom,³⁷³⁹ though now⁷³⁷ ye see³⁷⁰⁸ him not,³³⁶¹ yet¹¹⁶¹ believing,⁴¹⁰⁰ ye rejoice²¹ with joy⁵⁴⁷⁹ unspeakable⁴¹² and²⁵³² full of glory:¹³⁹²

8  예수를 너희가 보지 못하였으나 사랑하는도다 이제도 보지 못하나 믿고 말할 수 없는 영광스러운 즐거움으로 기뻐하니

8  whom having not seen, you love; in whom not yet seeing, but believing in Him you exult with unspeakable joy, and having been glorified,

8    너희가 그를 보지 못하였으나 사랑하며, 지금도 그를 보지 못하나 믿고 있으며, 또 말할 수 없이 영광으로 가득찬 기쁨으로 즐거워하나니

9  Receiving²⁸⁶⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ end⁵⁰⁵⁶ of your⁵²¹⁶ faith,⁴¹⁰² even the salvation⁴⁹⁹¹ of your souls.⁵⁵⁹⁰

9  믿음의 결국 곧 영혼의 구원을 받음이라

9  obtaining the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

9  이는 너희 믿음의 결과, 곧 너희 혼들의 구원을 받음이니라.

10  Of⁴⁰¹² which³⁷³⁹ salvation⁴⁹⁹¹ the prophets⁴³⁹⁶ have inquired¹⁵⁶⁷ and²⁵³² searched diligently,¹⁸³⁰ who prophesied⁴³⁹⁵ of⁴⁰¹² the³⁵⁸⁸ grace⁵⁴⁸⁵ that should come unto¹⁵¹⁹ you:⁵²⁰⁹

10  이 구원에 대하여는 너희에게 임할 은혜를 예언하던 선지자들이 연구하고 부지런히 살펴서

10  About which salvation the prophets sought out and searched out, prophesying concerning the grace for you;

10  이 구원에 관해서는, 너희에게 임할 은혜에 관하여 예언한 선지자들이 열심히 조사하고 살펴보던 것이며,

11  Searching²⁰⁴⁵ what,⁵¹⁰¹ or²²²⁸ what manner⁴¹⁶⁹ of time²⁵⁴⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ Spirit⁴¹⁵¹ of Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ which was in¹⁷²² them⁸⁴⁶ did signify,¹²¹³ when it testified beforehand⁴³⁰³ the³⁵⁸⁸ sufferings³⁸⁰⁴ of¹⁵¹⁹ Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ glory¹³⁹¹ that should follow.^{3326, 5023}

11  "자기 속에 계신 그리스도의G5547 영이 그 받으실 고난과 후에 얻으실 영광을 미리 증거하여 어느 시, 어떠한 때를 지시하시는지 상고하니라"

11  searching for what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ made clear within them, testifying beforehand of the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow.

11   그들 안에 계셨던 그리스도(마쉬악)의 영이 그리스도(마쉬악)의 고난과 다가올 영광을 미리 증거하실 때, 그 영이 무엇을, 또 어떤 시기를 지시하시는지 탐구하던 것이니라.

12  Unto whom³⁷³⁹ it was revealed,⁶⁰¹ that³⁷⁵⁴ not³⁷⁵⁶ unto themselves,¹⁴³⁸ but¹¹⁶¹ unto us²²⁵⁴ they did minister¹²⁴⁷ the things,⁸⁴⁶ which³⁷³⁹ are now³⁵⁶⁸ reported³¹² unto you⁵²¹³ by¹²²³ them that have preached the gospel²⁰⁹⁷ unto you⁵²⁰⁹ with¹⁷²² the Holy⁴⁰ Ghost⁴¹⁵¹ sent down⁶⁴⁹ from⁵⁷⁵ heaven;³⁷⁷² which things³⁷³⁹ the angels³² desire¹⁹³⁷ to look³⁸⁷⁹ into.¹⁵¹⁹

12  이 섬긴 바가 자기를 위한 것이 아니요 너희를 위한 것임이 계시로 알게 되었으니 이것은 하늘로부터 보내신 성령을 힘입어 복음을 전하는 자들로 이제 너희에게 고한 것이요 천사들도 살펴보기를 원하는 것이니라

12  To them it was revealed that not to themselves, but to us, they ministered the things which are now reported to you by those who have preached the gospel to you in the Holy Spirit sent from Heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

12  그들이 행한 사역들은 자신들을 위한 것이 아니라 우리를 위한 것임이 그들에게 계시되었고, 이것이 하늘로부터 보내신 성령으로 너희에게 복음을 전한 자들을 통하여 너희에게 이제 전해졌으며 천사들도 살펴보기를 간절히 바라는 것들이니라.

13  Wherefore¹³⁵² gird up³²⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ loins³⁷⁵¹ of your⁵²¹⁶ mind,¹²⁷¹ be sober,³⁵²⁵ and hope¹⁶⁷⁹ to the end⁵⁰⁴⁹ for¹⁹⁰⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ grace⁵⁴⁸⁵ that is to be brought⁵³⁴² unto you⁵²¹³ at¹⁷²² the revelation⁶⁰² of Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ;⁵⁵⁴⁷

13  그러므로 너희 마음의 허리를 동이고 근신하여 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(하 마쉬악)의 나타나실 때에 너희에게 가져올 은혜를 온전히 바랄찌어다

13  Therefore girding up the loins of your mind, being sober, perfectly hope for the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

13  그러므로 너희는 생각의 허리를 동이고 정신을 차려 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(하 마쉬악)께서 나타나실 때 너희에게 가져올 은혜를 끝까지 바라라.

14  As⁵⁶¹³ obedient⁵²¹⁸ children,⁵⁰⁴³ not³³⁶¹ fashioning yourselves⁴⁹⁶⁴ according to the³⁵⁸⁸ former⁴³⁸⁶ lusts¹⁹³⁹ in¹⁷²² your⁵²¹⁶ ignorance:⁵²

14  너희가 순종하는 자식처럼 이전 알지 못할 때에 좇던 너희 사욕을 본 삼지 말고

14  as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance,

14 순종하는 자녀들로서, 이전에 무지하던 때의 정욕에 너희 자신을 맞추지 말고

15  But²³⁵ as²⁵⁹⁶ he which hath called²⁵⁶⁴ you⁵²⁰⁹ is holy,⁴⁰ so²⁵³² be¹⁰⁹⁶ ye⁸⁴⁶ holy⁴⁰ in¹⁷²² all manner³⁹⁵⁶ of conversation;³⁹¹

15  오직 너희를 부르신 거룩한 자처럼 너희도 모든 행실에 거룩한 자가 되라

15  but according to the Holy One who has called you, you also become holy in all conduct,

15   오히려 너희를 부르신 그 분께서 거룩하신 것처럼 너희도 모든 행실에 거룩하라.

16  Because¹³⁶⁰ it is written,¹¹²⁵ Be¹⁰⁹⁶ ye holy;⁴⁰ for³⁷⁵⁴ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ holy.⁴⁰

16  기록하였으되 내가 거룩하니 너희도 거룩할찌어다 하셨느니라

16  because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."

16   이는 기록되기를 "내가 거룩하니 너희도 거룩하라."고 하시기 때문이니라.

17  And²⁵³² if¹⁴⁸⁷ ye call on¹⁹⁴¹ the Father,³⁹⁶² who without respect of persons judgeth^{2919, 678} according²⁵⁹⁶ to every man's¹⁵³⁸ work,²⁰⁴¹ pass³⁹⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ time⁵⁵⁵⁰ of your⁵²¹⁶ sojourning³⁹⁴⁰ here in¹⁷²² fear:⁵⁴⁰¹

17  외모로 보시지 않고 각 사람의 행위대로 판단하시는 자를 너희가 아버지라 부른즉 너희의 나그네로 있을 때를 두려움으로 지내라

17  And if you call on the Father, who without respect of persons judges according to the work of each one, pass the time of your earthly residence in fear,

17  또 외모로 보지 않으시고 각 사람의 행위에 따라 판단하시는 분을 너희가 아버지라 부른다면 너희의 이곳 나그네 시절을 두려움 속에서 지내라.

18  Forasmuch as ye know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ ye were not³⁷⁵⁶ redeemed³⁰⁸⁴ with corruptible things,⁵³⁴⁹ as silver⁶⁹⁴ and²²²⁸ gold,⁵⁵⁵³ from¹⁵³⁷ your⁵²¹⁶ vain³¹⁵² conversation³⁹¹ received by tradition from your fathers;³⁹⁷⁰

18  너희가 알거니와 너희 조상의 유전한 망령된 행실에서 구속된 것은 은이나 금같이 없어질 것으로 한 것이 아니요

18  knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers,

18   이는 너희가 아는 바와 같이, 너희가 너희 조상들로부터 전통으로 이어받은 너희의 허망한 행실에서 은이나 금같은 썩어질 것들로 구속된 것이 아니라

19  But²³⁵ with the precious⁵⁰⁹³ blood¹²⁹ of Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ as⁵⁶¹³ of a lamb²⁸⁶ without blemish²⁹⁹ and²⁵³² without spot:⁷⁸⁴

19  오직 흠 없고 점 없는 어린 양 같은 그리스도의G5547 보배로운 피로 한 것이니라

19  but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot;

19  흠도 없고 점도 없는 어린 양 같은 그리스도(마쉬악)의 보배로운 피로 된 것이기 때문이니라.

20  Who verily³³⁰³ was foreordained⁴²⁶⁷ before⁴²⁵³ the foundation²⁶⁰² of the world,²⁸⁸⁹ but¹¹⁶¹ was manifest⁵³¹⁹ in¹⁹⁰⁹ these last²⁰⁷⁸ times⁵⁵⁵⁰ for¹²²³ you,⁵²⁰⁹

20  그는 창세 전부터 미리 알리신 바 된 자나 이 말세에 너희를 위하여 나타내신 바 되었으니

20  indeed having been foreknown before the foundation of the world, but revealed in the last times for you,

20  그는 실로 세상의 기초가 놓이기 이전에 미리 정해지셨으나 너희를 위하여 이 마지막 때에 나타나셨으며

21  Who by¹²²³ him⁸⁴⁶ do believe⁴¹⁰⁰ in¹⁵¹⁹ God,²³¹⁶ that raised him up^{1453, 846} from¹⁵³⁷ the dead,³⁴⁹⁸ and²⁵³² gave¹³²⁵ him⁸⁴⁶ glory;¹³⁹¹ that⁵⁶²⁰ your⁵²¹⁶ faith⁴¹⁰² and²⁵³² hope¹⁶⁸⁰ might be¹⁵¹¹ in¹⁵¹⁹ God.²³¹⁶

21  너희는 저를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리시고 영광을 주신 하나님을G2316 그리스도(그분으)로 말미암아 믿는 자니 너희 믿음과 소망이 하나님께G2316 있게 하셨느니라

21  those believing in God through Him, He who raised Him up from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.

21  너희는 그를 통하여 그를 죽은 자들로부터 살리셨고 그에게 영광을 주신 하나님(야훼를)을 믿는 자들이니 이는 너희 믿음과 소망이 하나님(야훼) 안에 있게 하려는 것이라.

22  Seeing ye have purified⁴⁸ your⁵²¹⁶ souls⁵⁵⁹⁰ in¹⁷²² obeying⁵²¹⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ truth²²⁵ through¹²²³ the Spirit⁴¹⁵¹ unto¹⁵¹⁹ unfeigned⁵⁰⁵ love of the brethren,⁵³⁶⁰ see that ye love²⁵ one another²⁴⁰ with¹⁵³⁷ a pure²⁵¹³ heart²⁵⁸⁸ fervently:¹⁶¹⁹

22  너희가 진리를 순종함으로 너희 영혼을 깨끗하게 하여 거짓이 없이 형제를 사랑하기에 이르렀으니 마음으로 뜨겁게 피차 사랑하라

22  Purifying your souls in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love of the brothers, love one another fervently out of a pure heart,

22  너희가 성령을 통하여 진리에 순종함으로써 너희 혼들을 정결케 하여 가식없는 형제 사랑에 이르렀으니 순결한 마음으로 서로 뜨겁게 사랑하라.

23  Being born again,³¹³ not³⁷⁵⁶ of¹⁵³⁷ corruptible⁵³⁴⁹ seed,⁴⁷⁰¹ but²³⁵ of incorruptible,⁸⁶² by¹²²³ the word³⁰⁵⁶ of God,²³¹⁶ which liveth²¹⁹⁸ and²⁵³² abideth³³⁰⁶ forever.^{1519, 165}

23  너희가 거듭난 것이 썩어질 씨로 된 것이 아니요 썩지 아니할 씨로 된 것이니 하나님의G2316 살아 있고 항상 있는 말씀으로 되었느니라

23  having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the living Word of God, and abiding forever.

23   너희가 거듭난 것은 썩어질 씨로 된 것이 아니라 썩지 아니할 씨로 된 것이니 살아 있고 영원히 거하는 하나님(야훼)의 말씀으로 되었느니라.

24  For¹³⁶⁰ all³⁹⁵⁶ flesh⁴⁵⁶¹ is as⁵⁶¹³ grass,⁵⁵²⁸ and²⁵³² all³⁹⁵⁶ the glory¹³⁹¹ of man⁴⁴⁴ as⁵⁶¹³ the flower⁴³⁸ of grass.⁵⁵²⁸ The³⁵⁸⁸ grass⁵⁵²⁸ withereth,³⁵⁸³ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ flower⁴³⁸ thereof⁸⁴⁶ falleth away:¹⁶⁰¹

24  그러므로 모든 육체는 풀과 같고 그 모든 영광이 풀의 꽃과 같으니 풀은 마르고 꽃은 떨어지되

24  For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of men as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls out,

24  이는 모든 육체는 풀과 같고 사람의 모든 영광은 풀의 꽃과 같으며, 풀은 마르고 꽃은 져도

25  But¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ word⁴⁴⁸⁷ of the Lord²⁹⁶² endureth³³⁰⁶ forever.^{1519, 165} And¹¹⁶¹ this⁵¹²⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ word⁴⁴⁸⁷ which by the gospel is preached²⁰⁹⁷ unto¹⁵¹⁹ you.⁵²⁰⁹

25  오직 주의G2962 말씀은 세세토록 있도다 하였으니 너희에게 전한 복음이 곧 이 말씀이니라

25  but the Word of the Lord endures forever. And this is the Word preached as gospel to you.

25  주(야훼)의 말씀은 영원토록 남아 있음이라. 이것이 너희에게 복음으로 전해진 말씀이니라.
