1  Wherefore³⁷⁶⁷ laying aside⁶⁵⁹ all³⁹⁵⁶ malice,²⁵⁴⁹ and²⁵³² all³⁹⁵⁶ guile,¹³⁸⁸ and²⁵³² hypocrisies,⁵²⁷² and²⁵³² envies,⁵³⁵⁵ and²⁵³² all³⁹⁵⁶ evil speakings,²⁶³⁶

1  그러므로 모든 악독과 모든 궤휼과 외식과 시기와 모든 비방하는 말을 버리고

1  Therefore laying aside all malice and all guile and hypocrisies and envyings, and all evil speakings,

1   그러므로 모든 악의와 모든 속임수와 위선과 시기와 온갖 비방하는 말을 버리고

2  As⁵⁶¹³ newborn⁷³⁸ babes,¹⁰²⁵ desire¹⁹⁷¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ sincere⁹⁷ milk¹⁰⁵¹ of the word,³⁰⁵⁰ that²⁴⁴³ ye may grow⁸³⁷ thereby:^{1722, 846}

2  갓난 아이들같이 순전하고 신령한 젖을 사모하라 이는 이로 말미암아 너희로 구원에 이르도록 자라게 하려 함이라

2  desire the sincere milk of the Word, as newborn babes, so that you may grow by it;

2  갓난 아기들로서 순수한 말씀의 젖을 사모하라. 이는 너희가 그것으로 인하여 자라게 하려 함이니라.

3  If so be¹⁵¹² ye have tasted¹⁰⁸⁹ that³⁷⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ Lord²⁹⁶² is gracious.⁵⁵⁴³

3  너희가 주의G2962 인자하심을 맛보았으면 그리하라

3  if truly you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

3   그렇게 함으로 너희가 주(아도나이H136)의 인자하심을 맛보았느니라.

4  To⁴³¹⁴ whom³⁷³⁹ coming,⁴³³⁴ as unto a living²¹⁹⁸ stone,³⁰³⁷ disallowed⁵⁹³ indeed³³⁰³ of⁵²⁵⁹ men,⁴⁴⁴ but¹¹⁶¹ chosen¹⁵⁸⁸ of³⁸⁴⁴ God,²³¹⁶ and precious,¹⁷⁸⁴

4  사람에게는 버린 바가 되었으나G593  하나님G2316께는 택하심을 입은G1588 보배로운G1784  산G2198 돌이신G3037 예수(그분)에게 나아와

4  For having been drawn to Him, a living Stone, indeed rejected by men, but elect, precious with God;

4  사람들로부터는 정녕 버림받았으나 하나님(야훼)께는 택하심을 받은 귀중한 산 돌이신 그 분께 나아와서

5  Ye⁸⁴⁶ also,²⁵³² as⁵⁶¹³ lively²¹⁹⁸ stones,³⁰³⁷ are built up³⁶¹⁸ a spiritual⁴¹⁵² house,³⁶²⁴ an holy⁴⁰ priesthood,²⁴⁰⁶ to offer up³⁹⁹ spiritual⁴¹⁵² sacrifices,²³⁷⁸ acceptable²¹⁴⁴ to God²³¹⁶ by¹²²³ Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ.⁵⁵⁴⁷

5  너희도 산 돌같이 신령한G4152 집으로G3624 세워지고G3618 예수G2424 그리스도G5547 로 말미암아 하나님이G2316 기쁘게 받으실 신령한G4152 제사를G2378 드릴 거룩한G40 제사장이G2406 될찌니라

5  you also as living stones are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

5   너희도 산 돌들로서 영적인 집으로 지어지고 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(하 마쉬악H4899으)로 인하여 하나님(엘로힘)께서 기뻐하실 영적인 제물들을 드리는 거룩한 제사장이 되느니라.

6  Wherefore¹³⁵² also²⁵³² it is contained⁴⁰²³ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ scripture,¹¹²⁴ Behold,²⁴⁰⁰ I lay⁵⁰⁸⁷ in¹⁷²² Zion⁴⁶²² a chief corner stone,^{204, 3037} elect,¹⁵⁸⁸ precious:¹⁷⁸⁴ and²⁵³² he that believeth⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁹⁰⁹ him⁸⁴⁶ shall not³³⁶⁴ be confounded.²⁶¹⁷

6  경에 기록하였으되 보라 내가 택한 보배롭고 요긴한 모퉁이G204 돌을 시온에 두노니 저를 믿는 자는 부끄러움을 당치 아니하리라 하였으니

6  Therefore also it is contained in the Scripture: "Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner Stone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him shall never be ashamed."

6  그러므로 성경에도 이런 말씀이 있으니 "보라, 내가 택한 귀중한 모퉁잇돌을 시온에 두노니 그를 믿는 사람은 수치를 당하지 아니하리라."고 하였느니라.

7  Unto you⁵²¹³ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ which believe⁴¹⁰⁰ he is precious:⁵⁰⁹² but¹¹⁶¹ unto them which be disobedient,⁵⁴⁴ the stone³⁰³⁷ which³⁷³⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ builders³⁶¹⁸ disallowed,⁵⁹³ the same³⁷⁷⁸ is made¹⁰⁹⁶ the⁽¹⁵¹⁹⁾ head²⁷⁷⁶ of the corner,¹¹³⁷

7  그러므로 믿는 너희에게는 보배이나 믿지 아니하는 자에게는 건축자들의 버린 그 돌이 모퉁이의G1137  머릿돌이 되고

7  Therefore to you who believe is the honor. But to those who are disobedient, He is the Stone which the builders rejected; this One came to be the Head of the corner,

7  그러므로 믿는 너희에게는 그가 귀중하나 불순종하는 자들에게는 건축자들이 버린 그 돌이 모퉁이의 머릿돌이 되고

8  And²⁵³² a stone³⁰³⁷ of stumbling,⁴³⁴⁸ and²⁵³² a rock⁴⁰⁷³ of offense,⁴⁶²⁵ even to them which³⁷³⁹ stumble⁴³⁵⁰ at the³⁵⁸⁸ word,³⁰⁵⁶ being disobedient:⁵⁴⁴ whereunto^{1519, 3739} also²⁵³² they were appointed.⁵⁰⁸⁷

8  또한 부딪히는 돌과 거치는 반석이 되었다 하니라 저희가 말씀을 순종치 아니하므로 넘어지나니 이는 저희를 이렇게 정하신 것이라

8  and a Stone-of-stumbling and a Rock-of-offense to those disobeying, who stumble at the Word, to which they also were appointed.

8   또 실족하게 하는 돌과 거치는 반석이 되었으니, 곧 불순종함으로 말씀에 실족하는 자들에게니라. 그들은 또한 그렇게 되기로 정해졌느니라.

9  But¹¹⁶¹ ye⁵²¹⁰ are a chosen¹⁵⁸⁸ generation,¹⁰⁸⁵ a royal⁹³⁴ priesthood,²⁴⁰⁶ a holy⁴⁰ nation,¹⁴⁸⁴ a peculiar^{1519, 4047} people;²⁹⁹² that³⁷⁰⁴ ye should show forth¹⁸⁰⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ praises⁷⁰³ of him³⁵⁸⁸ who hath called²⁵⁶⁴ you⁵²⁰⁹ out of¹⁵³⁷ darkness⁴⁶⁵⁵ into¹⁵¹⁹ his⁸⁴⁶ marvelous²²⁹⁸ light:⁵⁴⁵⁷

9  오직 너희는 택하신 족속이요 왕같은 제사장들이요 거룩한 나라요 그의 소유된 백성이니 이는 너희를 어두운데서 불러 내어 그의 기이한 빛에 들어가게 하신 자의 아름다운 덕을 선전하게 하려 하심이라

9  But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for possession, so that you might speak of the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

9   그러나 너희는 선택받은 세대요 왕 같은 제사장이며, 거룩한 민족이요, 독특한 백성이니, 이는 너희를 어두움에서 불러내어 그의 놀라운 빛으로 들어가게 하신 분의 덕을 너희로 선포하게 하려는 것이니라.

10  Which³⁵⁸⁸ in time past⁴²¹⁸ were not³⁷⁵⁶ a people,²⁹⁹² but¹¹⁶¹ are now³⁵⁶⁸ the people²⁹⁹² of God:²³¹⁶ which had not obtained mercy,^{1653, 3756} but¹¹⁶¹ now³⁵⁶⁸ have obtained mercy.¹⁶⁵³

10  너희가 전에는 백성이 아니더니 이제는 하나님의G2316 백성이요 전에는 긍휼을 얻지 못하였더니 이제는 긍휼을 얻은 자니라

10  you who then were not a people, but now the people of God, those not pitied then, but now pitied.

10   너희가 전에는 백성이 아니었으나 이제는 하나님(야훼)의 백성이며 전에는 자비를 받지 못했으나 이제는 자비를 받았느니라.

11  Dearly beloved,²⁷ I beseech³⁸⁷⁰ you as⁵⁶¹³ strangers³⁹⁴¹ and²⁵³² pilgrims,³⁹²⁷ abstain⁵⁶⁷ from fleshly⁴⁵⁵⁹ lusts,¹⁹³⁹ which³⁷⁴⁸ war⁴⁷⁵⁴ against²⁵⁹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ soul;⁵⁵⁹⁰

11  사랑하는 자들아 나그네와 행인같은 너희를 권하노니 영혼을 거스려 싸우는 육체의 정욕을 제어하라

11  Dearly beloved, I exhort you as temporary residents and pilgrims to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,

11  사랑하는 자들아, 타국인 같고 순례자 같은 너희에게 권고하노니 혼을 거슬러 싸우는 육신의 정욕들을 멀리하라.

12  Having²¹⁹² your⁵²¹⁶ conversation³⁹¹ honest²⁵⁷⁰ among¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ Gentiles:¹⁴⁸⁴ that,²⁴⁴³ whereas^{1722, 3739} they speak against²⁶³⁵ you⁵²¹⁶ as⁵⁶¹³ evildoers,²⁵⁵⁵ they may by¹⁵³⁷ your good²⁵⁷⁰ works,²⁰⁴¹ which they shall behold,²⁰²⁹ glorify¹³⁹² God²³¹⁶ in¹⁷²² the day²²⁵⁰ of visitation.¹⁹⁸⁴

12  너희가 이방인G1484 중에서 행실을 선하게 가져 너희를 악행한다고 비방하는 자들로 하여금 너희 선한 일을 보고 권고하시는 날에 하나님께G2316 영광을 돌리게 하려 함이라

12  having your conduct honest among the nations, in that which they speak against you as evildoers, they may glorify God in a day of His visitation, seeing your good works.

12  이는 너희가 이방인들 가운데 행실을 바르게 하여 그들이 너희에게 악을 행하는 자라고 말하다가도 너희의 선한 일들을 보고 감찰하시는 그 날에 그들로 하나님(엘로힘)께 영광을 돌리게 하려 함이라.

13  Submit yourselves⁵²⁹³ to⁽³⁷⁶⁷⁾ every³⁹⁵⁶ ordinance²⁹³⁷ of man⁴⁴² for the Lord's sake:^{1223, 3588, 2962} whether¹⁵³⁵ it be to the king,⁹³⁵ as⁵⁶¹³ supreme;⁵²⁴²

13  인간에 세운 모든 제도를 주를G2962 위하여 순복하되 혹은 위에 있는 왕이나

13  Then be in obedience to every ordinance of men, because of the Lord, whether to a king as supreme,

13  주(아도나이)를 위하여 인간의 모든 법령에 복종하되 권세 있는 왕에게나

14  Or¹⁵³⁵ unto governors,²²³² as⁵⁶¹³ unto them that are sent³⁹⁹² by¹²²³ him⁸⁴⁶ for¹⁵¹⁹ the punishment¹⁵⁵⁷ of⁽³³⁰³⁾ evildoers,²⁵⁵⁵ and¹¹⁶¹ for the praise¹⁸⁶⁸ of them that do well.¹⁷

14  혹은 악행하는 자를 징벌하고 선행하는 자를 포장하기 위하여 그의 보낸 방백에게 하라

14  or to governors as sent by Him for vengeance on evildoers, but for praise on well-doers.

14  혹은 악을 행하는 자들을 벌하고 선을 행하는 자들을 칭찬하라고 그가 보낸 관리들에게 하라.

15  For³⁷⁵⁴ so³⁷⁷⁹ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ will²³⁰⁷ of God,²³¹⁶ that with well doing¹⁵ ye may put to silence⁵³⁹² the³⁵⁸⁸ ignorance⁵⁶ of foolish⁸⁷⁸ men:⁴⁴⁴

15  곧 선행으로 어리석은 사람들의 무식한 말을 막으시는 것이라

15  For such is the will of God, doing good to silence the ignorance of foolish men;

15  이는 하나님(엘로힘)의 뜻이 그러함이니, 너희가 선을 행함으로 어리석은 사람들의 무지를 잠잠케 하려는 것이니라.

16  As⁵⁶¹³ free,¹⁶⁵⁸ and²⁵³² not³³⁶¹ using²¹⁹² your liberty¹⁶⁵⁷ for⁵⁶¹³ a cloak¹⁹⁴² of maliciousness,²⁵⁴⁹ but²³⁵ as⁵⁶¹³ the servants¹⁴⁰¹ of God.²³¹⁶

16  자유하나 그 자유로 악을 가리우는데 쓰지 말고 오직 하나님의G2316 종과 같이 하라

16  as free, and not having freedom as a cover of evil, but as servants of God.

16 자유롭게 행하되 너희의 자유를 악의 구실로 사용하지 말고 하나님(야훼)의 종들로서 사용하라.

17  Honor⁵⁰⁹¹ all³⁹⁵⁶ men. Love²⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ brotherhood.⁸¹ Fear⁵³⁹⁹ God.²³¹⁶ Honor⁵⁰⁹¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ king.⁹³⁵

17  뭇 사람을 공경하며 형제를 사랑하며 하나님을G2316 두려워하며 왕을 공경하라

17  Honor all. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

17  모든 사람을 존경하고 형제를 사랑하며 하나님(엘로힘)을 두려워하고 왕을 존경하라.

18  Servants,³⁶¹⁰ be subject to⁵²⁹³ your masters¹²⁰³ with¹⁷²² all³⁹⁵⁶ fear;⁵⁴⁰¹ not³⁷⁵⁶ only³⁴⁴⁰ to the³⁵⁸⁸ good¹⁸ and²⁵³² gentle,¹⁹³³ but²³⁵ also²⁵³² to the³⁵⁸⁸ froward.⁴⁶⁴⁶

18  사환들아 범사에 두려워함으로 주인들에게 순복하되 선하고 관용하는 자들에게만 아니라 또한 까다로운 자들에게도 그리하라

18  Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to those good and forbearing, but also to the perverse ones.

18    종들아, 모든 두려움으로 너희 주인들에게 복종하되 선하고 온화한 자들에게 뿐만 아니라 까다로운 자들에게도 그렇게 하라.

19  For¹⁰⁶³ this⁵¹²⁴ is thankworthy,⁵⁴⁸⁵ if¹⁴⁸⁷ a man⁵¹⁰⁰ for¹²²³ conscience⁴⁸⁹³ toward God²³¹⁶ endure⁵²⁹⁷ grief,³⁰⁷⁷ suffering³⁹⁵⁸ wrongfully.⁹⁵

19  애매히 고난을 받아도 하나님을G2316 생각함으로 슬픔을 참으면 이는 아름다우나

19  For this is a grace, if for conscience toward God anyone endures grief, suffering wrongfully.

19   이는 누가 억울하게 고난을 받더라도 하나님(야훼를)을 의식하여 슬픔을 참으면 그것은 감사할 일이지만

20  For¹⁰⁶³ what⁴¹⁶⁹ glory²⁸¹¹ is it, if,¹⁴⁸⁷ when ye be buffeted^{2852 (2532)} for your faults,²⁶⁴ ye shall take it patiently?⁵²⁷⁸ but²³⁵ if,¹⁴⁸⁷ when ye do well,¹⁵ and²⁵³² suffer³⁹⁵⁸ for it, ye take it patiently,⁵²⁷⁸ this⁵¹²⁴ is acceptable⁵⁴⁸⁵ with³⁸⁴⁴ God.²³¹⁶

20  죄가 있어 매를 맞고 참으면 무슨 칭찬이 있으리요 오직 선을 행함으로 고난을 받고 참으면 이는 하나님G2316 앞에 아름다우니라

20  For what glory is it if you patiently endure while sinning and being buffeted? But if you suffer while doing good, and patiently endure, this is a grace from God.

20   너희의 잘못들로 인해 매를 맞고 참으면 무슨 영광이 있겠느냐? 그러나 선을 행하다가 고난을 받고 참으면 그것은 하나님(야훼)께서 기뻐하실 만한 것이 되느니라.

21  For¹⁰⁶³ even hereunto^{1519, 5124} were ye called:²⁵⁶⁴ because³⁷⁵⁴ Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ also²⁵³² suffered³⁹⁵⁸ for⁵²²⁸ us,²²⁵⁷ leaving⁵²⁷⁷ us²²⁵⁴ an example,⁵²⁶¹ that²⁴⁴³ ye should follow¹⁸⁷² his⁸⁴⁶ steps:²⁴⁸⁷

21  이를 위하여 너희가 부르심을 입었으니 그리스도G5547도 너희를 위하여 고난을 받으사 너희에게 본을 끼쳐 그 자취를 따라 오게 하려 하셨느니라

21  For you were not called to this? For Christ also suffered on our behalf, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps,

21  이를 위하여 너희가 부르심을 받았으니, 그리스도(마쉬악)도 우리를 위하여 고난을 받으시고, 우리에게 한 본을 남겨 놓으시어, 너희로 그의 발자취를 따르게 하셨느니라.

22  Who³⁷³⁹ did⁴¹⁶⁰ no³⁷⁵⁶ sin,²⁶⁶ neither³⁷⁶¹ was guile¹³⁸⁸ found²¹⁴⁷ in¹⁷²² his⁸⁴⁶ mouth:⁴⁷⁵⁰

22  저는 죄를 범치 아니하시고 그 입에 궤사도 없으시며

22  He who did no sin, nor was guile found in His mouth,

22  그는 죄를 짓지도 아니하셨고 그 입에는 간사함도 없으셨으며,

23  Who,³⁷³⁹ when he was reviled,³⁰⁵⁸ reviled not again;^{486, 3756} when he suffered,³⁹⁵⁸ he threatened⁵⁴⁶ not;³⁷⁵⁶ but¹¹⁶¹ committed³⁸⁶⁰ himself to him that judgeth²⁹¹⁹ righteously:¹³⁴⁶

23  욕을 받으시되 대신 욕하지 아니하시고 고난을 받으시되 위협하지 아니하시고 오직 공의로 심판하시는 자에게 부탁하시며

23  who when He was reviled did not revile in return. When He suffered, He did not threaten, but gave Himself up to Him who judges righteously.

23  모욕을 당하셨으나 다시 모욕으로 갚지 아니하셨고, 고통을 당하셨으나 위협하지 아니하셨으며, 오직 의롭게 심판하시는 분께 자신을 의탁하셨느니라.

24  Who³⁷³⁹ his own self⁸⁴⁸ bare³⁹⁹ our²²⁵⁷ sins²⁶⁶ in¹⁷²² his own⁸⁴⁸ body⁴⁹⁸³ on¹⁹⁰⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ tree,³⁵⁸⁶ that²⁴⁴³ we, being dead⁵⁸¹ to sins,²⁶⁶ should live²¹⁹⁸ unto righteousness:¹³⁴³ by whose³⁷³⁹ stripes³⁴⁶⁸ ye were healed.²³⁹⁰

24  친히 나무G3586에 달려 그 몸으로 우리 죄를 담당하셨으니 이는 우리로 죄에 대하여 죽고 의에 대하여 살게 하려 하심이라 저가 채찍에 맞음으로 너희는 나음을 얻었나니

24  He Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that dying to sins, we might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.

24   그가 친히 나무에 달린 자신의 몸으로 우리의 죄들을 담당하셨으니, 이는 우리가 죄들에는 죽고 의에는 살게 하려 하심이니라. 그가 채찍에 맞음으로 너희가 낫게 되었느니라.

25  For¹⁰⁶³ ye were²²⁵⁸ as⁵⁶¹³ sheep⁴²⁶³ going astray;⁴¹⁰⁵ but²³⁵ are now³⁵⁶⁸ returned¹⁹⁹⁴ unto¹⁹⁰⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Shepherd⁴¹⁶⁶ and²⁵³² Bishop¹⁹⁸⁵ of your⁵²¹⁶ souls.⁵⁵⁹⁰

25  너희가 전에는 양과 같이 길을 잃었더니 이제는 너희 영혼의 목자와 감독 되신 이에게 돌아왔느니라

25  For you were as sheep going astray, but now you are turned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

25  이는 너희가 길 잃은 양들 같았으나 이제는 너희 혼들의 목자와 감독에게로 돌아왔음이니라.
