1  Having²¹⁹² therefore³⁷⁶⁷ these⁵⁰²⁵ promises,¹⁸⁶⁰ dearly beloved,²⁷ let us cleanse²⁵¹¹ ourselves¹⁴³⁸ from⁵⁷⁵ all³⁹⁵⁶ filthiness³⁴³⁶ of the flesh⁴⁵⁶¹ and²⁵³² spirit,⁴¹⁵¹ perfecting²⁰⁰⁵ holiness⁴² in¹⁷²² the fear⁵⁴⁰¹ of God.²³¹⁶

1  Then having these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilements of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

1   그러므로 참으로 사랑하는 자들아, 우리가 이러한 약속들을 가졌으니, 하나님(야훼)을 두려워함으로 거룩함을 온전히 이루어, 육과 영의 모든 더러움에서 우리 자신을 깨끗하게 하자.

2  Receive⁵⁵⁶² us;²²⁴⁸ we have wronged⁹¹ no man,³⁷⁶² we have corrupted⁵³⁵¹ no man,³⁷⁶² we have defrauded⁴¹²² no man.³⁷⁶²

2  마음으로 우리를 영접하라 우리가 아무에게도G3762 불의를 하지G91 않고G3762 아무에게도 해롭게 하지G5351 않고 아무에게도 속여 빼앗은 일이G4122 없노라

2  Make room for us. We wronged no one, we corrupted no one, we overreached no one.

2    우리를 영접하라. 우리는 아무에게도 잘못하지 아니하였고, 아무도 타락시키지 아니하였으며, 아무에게서도 속여 빼앗지 아니하였노라.

3  I speak³⁰⁰⁴ not³⁷⁵⁶ this to⁴³¹⁴ condemn²⁶³³ you: for¹⁰⁶³ I have said before,⁴²⁸⁰ that³⁷⁵⁴ ye are²⁰⁷⁵ in¹⁷²² our²²⁵⁷ hearts²⁵⁸⁸ to die⁴⁸⁸⁰ and²⁵³² live with⁴⁸⁰⁰ you.

3  내가 정죄2633하려고 이 말을 하는 것이 아니라 이전에 말하였거니와 너희로 우리 마음에 있어 함께 죽고G4880 함께 살게G4800 하고자 함이라

3  I do not speak this to condemn you, for I have said before that you are in our hearts for us to die together, and to live together.

3  내가 너희를 정죄하려고 이 말을 하는 것이 아니니라. 이는 내가 이전에 말하였거니와 너희가 우리 마음 속에 있어 너희와 함께 죽고 함께 살려는 것이라.

4  Great⁴¹⁸³ is my³⁴²⁷ boldness of speech³⁹⁵⁴ toward⁴³¹⁴ you,⁵²⁰⁹ great⁴¹⁸³ is my³⁴²⁷ glorying²⁷⁴⁶ of⁵²²⁸ you:⁵²¹⁶ I am filled⁴¹³⁷ with comfort,³⁸⁷⁴ I am exceeding⁵²⁴⁸ joyful⁵⁴⁷⁹ in¹⁹⁰⁹ all³⁹⁵⁶ our²²⁵⁷ tribulation.²³⁴⁷

4  내가 너희를 향하여 하는 말이 담대한 것도G3954 많고 너희를 위하여 자랑하는 것도 많으니 내가 우리의 모든 환난G2347 가운데서도 위로가G3874 가득하고 기쁨이 넘치는도다

4  My boldness of speech is great toward you; my glorying on your behalf is much. I have been filled with comfort, I am overflowing with joy on all our trouble.

4  너희를 향하여 말하는 나의 담력도 크고 너희에 관한 나의 자랑도 크도다. 내가 위로로 충만해졌으니, 우리의 모든 환난 가운데서도 나는 기쁨으로 차고 넘치도다

5  For,¹⁰⁶³ when²⁵³² we²²⁵⁷ were come²⁰⁶⁴ into¹⁵¹⁹ Macedonia,³¹⁰⁹ our²²⁵⁷ flesh⁴⁵⁶¹ had²¹⁹² no³⁷⁶² rest,⁴²⁵ but²³⁵ we were troubled²³⁴⁶ on¹⁷²² every side;³⁹⁵⁶ without¹⁸⁵⁵ were fightings,³¹⁶³ within²⁰⁸¹ were fears.⁵⁴⁰¹

5  우리가 마게도냐에G3109 이르렀을 때에도 우리 육체가G4561 편치G425 못G3762하고G2192 사방으로G3956 환난을 당하여G2346 밖으로는 다툼이요G3163 안으로는 두려움이라G5401

5  For, indeed, coming into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but being troubled in every way, with fightings on the outside, and fears on the inside.

5  우리가 마케도니아에 도착했을 때 우리의 육신은 편하지 못하였고 사면에서 고난을 받았으니 밖으로는 다툼이요, 안으로는 두려움이라.

6  Nevertheless²³⁵ God,²³¹⁶ that comforteth³⁸⁷⁰ those that are cast down,⁵⁰¹¹ comforted³⁸⁷⁰ us²²⁴⁸ by¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ coming³⁹⁵² of Titus;⁵¹⁰³

6  그러나 비천한 자들을G5011 위로하시는G3870 하나님이G2316 디도의G5103 옴으로 우리를 위로하셨으니G3870

6  But He who comforts the lowly comforted us by the coming of Titus.

6  그러나 낙심한 자들을 위로하시는 하나님(엘로힘)께서 디도를 오게 하심으로 우리를 위로하셨으며

7  And¹¹⁶¹ not³⁷⁵⁶ by¹⁷²² his⁸⁴⁶ coming³⁹⁵² only,³⁴⁴⁰ but^{235, (2532)} by¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ consolation³⁸⁷⁴ wherewith³⁷³⁹ he was comforted³⁸⁷⁰ in¹⁹⁰⁹ you,⁵²¹³ when he told³¹² us²²⁵⁴ your⁵²¹⁶ earnest desire,¹⁹⁷² your⁵²¹⁶ mourning,³⁶⁰² your⁵²¹⁶ fervent mind²²⁰⁵ toward⁵²²⁸ me;¹⁷⁰⁰ so that⁵⁶²⁰ I³¹⁶⁵ rejoiced⁵⁴⁶³ the more.³¹²³

7  저의 온 것뿐 아니요 오직 저가 너희에게 받은 그 위로로G3874 위로하고 너희의 사모함과 애통함과G3602 나를 위하여 열심 있는 것을G2205 우리에게 고함으로 나로 더욱 기쁘게 하였느니라

7  And not only by his coming, but by the comfort with which he was comforted over you, telling us your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me; so that I rejoiced the more.

7    그가 온 것뿐만 아니라 그가 너희에게 받은 위로로 위로하였으니, 너희의 사모함과 너희의 애통함과 나에 대한 너희의 열렬한 마음을 우리에게 말해 줄 때 나를 더욱 기쁘게 하였느니라.

8  For³⁷⁵⁴ though¹⁴⁹⁹ I made you sorry^{3076, 5209} with¹⁷²² a letter,¹⁹⁹² I do not³⁷⁵⁶ repent,³³³⁸ though¹⁴⁹⁹ I did repent:³³³⁸ for¹⁰⁶³ I perceive⁹⁹¹ that³⁷⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ same¹⁵⁶⁵ epistle¹⁹⁹² hath made you sorry,^{3076, 5209} though¹⁴⁹⁹ it were but for⁴³¹⁴ a season.⁵⁶¹⁰

8  그러므로 내가 편지로G1992 너희를 근심하게 한 것을(I made you sorryG3076, G5209) 후회하였으나G3338 지금은 후회하지G3338 아니함은G3756 그 편지가 너희로 잠시만 근심하게 한줄을 앎이라

8  For even if I grieved you in the letter, I do not regret; if indeed I did regret; for I see that that letter grieved you for an hour.

8 내가 편지로 너희를 슬프게 한 것을 후회하였을지라도, 지금은 후회하지 아니하노라. 이는 그 편지가 너희를 잠시만 슬프게 하였음을 내가 알기 때문이라.

9  Now³⁵⁶⁸ I rejoice,⁵⁴⁶³ not³⁷⁵⁶ that³⁷⁵⁴ ye were made sorry,³⁰⁷⁶ but²³⁵ that³⁷⁵⁴ ye sorrowed³⁰⁷⁶ to¹⁵¹⁹ repentance:³³⁴¹ for¹⁰⁶³ ye were made sorry³⁰⁷⁶ after a godly manner,^{2596, 2316} that²⁴⁴³ ye might receive damage²²¹⁰ by¹⁵³⁷ us²²⁵⁷ in¹⁷²² nothing.³³⁶⁷

9  내가 지금 기뻐함은G5463 너희로 근심하게 한 까닭이 아니요 도리어 너희가 근심함으로G3076 회개함에G3341 이른 까닭이라 너희가 하나님의 뜻대로(after a godly manner,G2596 G2316 ) 근심하게 된G3076 것은 우리에게서 아무 해도 받지G2210않게 하려 함이라

9  Now I rejoice, not that you were grieved, but that you grieved to repentance. For you were grieved according to God, so that you might suffer loss by nothing in us.

9  이제 내가 기뻐하는 것은 너희가 슬퍼하게 된 것 때문이 아니요, 너희가 슬퍼하여 회개에 이른 것 때문이라. 너희가 하나님(야훼)의 방식에 따라 슬퍼하게 된 것은 우리로 인하여 아무런 피해도 입지 않게 하려 함이라.

10  For¹⁰⁶³ godly^{2596, 2316} sorrow³⁰⁷⁷ worketh²⁷¹⁶ repentance³³⁴¹ to¹⁵¹⁹ salvation⁴⁹⁹¹ not to be repented of:²⁷⁸ but¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ sorrow³⁰⁷⁷ of the³⁵⁸⁸ world²⁸⁸⁹ worketh²⁷¹⁶ death.²²⁸⁸

10  하나님의 뜻대로 하는G2596 G2316 근심은G3077 후회할 것이 없는G278  구원에G4991 이르게 하는 회개를G3341 이루는 것이요 세상G2889 근심은G3077 사망을G2288 이루는 것이니라

10  For the grief according to God works repentance to salvation, not to be regretted, but the grief of the world works out death.

10  s하나님(야훼)의 뜻대로 하는 슬픔은 구원을 위한 회개에 이르게 하므로 후회할 것이 없느니라. 그러나 세상의 슬픔은 사망에 이르느니라.

11  For¹⁰⁶³ behold²⁴⁰⁰ this⁵¹²⁴ selfsame thing,⁸⁴⁶ that ye⁵²⁰⁹ sorrowed³⁰⁷⁶ after a godly sort,^{2596, 2316} what⁴²¹⁴ carefulness⁴⁷¹⁰ it wrought²⁷¹⁶ in you,⁵²¹³ yea,²³⁵ what clearing of yourselves,⁶²⁷ yea,²³⁵ what indignation,²⁴ yea,²³⁵ what fear,⁵⁴⁰¹ yea,²³⁵ what vehement desire,¹⁹⁷² yea,²³⁵ what zeal,²²⁰⁵ yea,²³⁵ what revenge!¹⁵⁵⁷ In¹⁷²² all³⁹⁵⁶ things ye have approved⁴⁹²¹ yourselves¹⁴³⁸ to be¹⁵¹¹ clear⁵³ in¹⁷²² this matter.⁴²²⁹

11  보라G2400 하나님의 뜻대로G2596 G2316 하게 한 이 근심이G3076 너희로 얼마나 간절하게G4710 하며 얼마나 변명하게 하며G627 얼마나 분하게 하며G24 얼마나 두렵게 하며G5401 얼마나 사모하게 하며G1972  얼마나 열심있게 하며G2205 얼마나 벌하게 하였는가G1557  너희가 저 일에 대하여 일절 너희 자신의 깨끗G53함을 나타내었느니라G4921

11  For behold this same thing (you being grieved according to God); how much it worked out earnestness in you; but also defense; but also indignation; but also fear; but also desire; but also zeal; but also vengeance! In everything you approved yourselves to be clear in the matter.

11  보라, 너희가 하나님(야훼)의 뜻대로 슬퍼하였던 이것이 얼마나 간절함으로 너희 안에서 역사하였으며, 정녕 얼마나 변명하게 하며, 정녕 얼마나 분개하게 하며, 정녕 얼마나 두려워하게 하며, 정녕 얼마나 사모하게 하며, 정녕 얼마나 열성을 내게 하며, 정녕 얼마나 보복하게 하였는가! 모든 것으로 너희는 이 문제에 있어서 스스로 결백함을 증명하였느니라.

12  Wherefore,⁶⁸⁶ though¹⁴⁹⁹ I wrote¹¹²⁵ unto you,⁵²¹³ I did it not³⁷⁵⁶ for his cause¹⁷⁵² that had done the wrong,⁹¹ nor³⁷⁶¹ for his cause¹⁷⁵² that suffered wrong,⁹¹ but²³⁵ that our²²⁵⁷ care⁴⁷¹⁰ for⁵²²⁸ you⁵²¹⁶ in the sight¹⁷⁹⁹ of God²³¹⁶ might appear⁵³¹⁹ unto⁴³¹⁴ you.⁵²⁰⁹

12  그런즉 내가 너희에게 쓴 것은G1125 그 불의 행한 자를G91 위한 것도 아니요 그 불의 당한 자를 위한 것도 아니요 오직 우리를 위한 너희의 간절함이 하나님G2316 앞에서G1799 너희에게 나타나게G5319 하려 함이로다

12  Then, though I wrote to you, it was not on account of the one who did wrong, nor on account of the one who suffered wrong, but for the sake of revealing our earnestness on your behalf, for you before God.

12  이제 내가 너희에게 쓴 것은 불의를 행한 자 때문이 아니요 또한 불의를 당한 자 때문도 아니라. 다만 너희를 위한 우리의 간절함이 하나님(엘로힘) 앞에서 너희에게 나타나게 하려 함이라.

13  Therefore^{1223, 5124} we were comforted³⁸⁷⁰ in¹⁹⁰⁹ your⁵²¹⁶ comfort:³⁸⁷⁴ yea, and¹¹⁶¹ exceedingly⁴⁰⁵⁶ the more³¹²³ joyed⁵⁴⁶³ we for¹⁹⁰⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ joy⁵⁴⁷⁹ of Titus,⁵¹⁰³ because³⁷⁵⁴ his⁸⁴⁶ spirit⁴¹⁵¹ was refreshed³⁷³ by⁵⁷⁵ you⁵²¹⁶ all.³⁹⁵⁶

13  이로 인하여 우리가 위로를 받았고G3870 우리의 받은 위로 위에 디도의 기쁨으로 우리가 더욱 많이 기뻐함은 그의 마음이G4151 너희 무리를 인하여 안심함을 얻었음G373이니라

13  Therefore we have been comforted in your comfort, and we rather rejoiced more abundantly over the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.

13  이 때문에 우리는 너희의 위로 안에서 위로를 받았고, 디도의 기쁨으로 인해 우리가 더욱 심히 기뻐한 것은, 그의 영이 너희 모두로 인하여 새 힘을 얻었기 때문이라.

14  For³⁷⁵⁴ if I have boasted any thing^{1536, 2744} to him⁸⁴⁶ of⁵²²⁸ you,⁵²¹⁶ I am not ashamed;^{2617, 3756} but²³⁵ as⁵⁶¹³ we spake²⁹⁸⁰ all things³⁹⁵⁶ to you⁵²¹³ in¹⁷²² truth,²²⁵ even²⁵³² so³⁷⁷⁹ our²²⁵⁷ boasting,²⁷⁴⁶ which³⁵⁸⁸ I made before¹⁹⁰⁹ Titus,⁵¹⁰³ is found¹⁰⁹⁶ a truth.²²⁵

14  내가 그에게 너희를 위하여 자랑한 것이 있더라도G1536, G2744 부끄럽지 아니하니G2617, G3756 우리가 너희에게 이른 말이G2980 다 참된 것G225  같이 디도 앞에서 우리의 자랑한 것도 참되게 되었도다

14  For if I have boasted anything about you to him, I was not ashamed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, even so our boasting as to Titus became truth.

14  내가 그에게 너희에 관하여 무엇을 자랑하였다 해도 부끄럽지 아니한 것은 우리가 너희에게 모든 일을 진실로 말했던 것같이 내가 디도에게 한 우리의 자랑도 진실임이 드러났기 때문이라.

15  And²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ inward affection⁴⁶⁹⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ more abundant⁴⁰⁵⁶ toward¹⁵¹⁹ you,⁵²⁰⁹ whilst he remembereth³⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ obedience⁵²¹⁸ of you⁵²¹⁶ all,³⁹⁵⁶ how⁵⁶¹³ with³³²⁶ fear⁵⁴⁰¹ and²⁵³² trembling⁵¹⁵⁶ ye received¹²⁰⁹ him.⁸⁴⁶

15  저가 너희 모든 사람들이 두려워하고G5401 떪G5156으로 자기를 영접하여G1209 순종한 것을G1209 생각하고G363 너희를 향하여 그의 심정이G4698 더욱 깊었으니

15  And his tender feelings are more abundant toward you, remembering the obedience of you all, as you received him with fear and trembling.

15  너희가 두려움과 떨림으로 그를 영접하였기에 그가 너희 모두의 순종을 기억하고 그의 애정이 너희를 향하여 더욱 풍성해졌느니라.

16  I rejoice⁵⁴⁶³ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ that³⁷⁵⁴ I have confidence²²⁹² in¹⁷²² you⁵²¹³ in¹⁷²² all³⁹⁵⁶ things.

16  내가 너희를 인하여 범사G3956에 담대한G2292 고로 기뻐하노라G5463

16  Therefore I rejoice that I have confidence in you in everything.

16 그러므로 나는 모든 일에 너희를 신뢰하므로 기뻐하노라.
