1  Moreover,¹¹⁶¹ brethren,⁸⁰ I would²³⁰⁹ not³⁷⁵⁶ that ye⁵²⁰⁹ should be ignorant,⁵⁰ how that³⁷⁵⁴ all³⁹⁵⁶ our²²⁵⁷ fathers³⁹⁶² were²²⁵⁸ under⁵²⁵⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ cloud,³⁵⁰⁷ and²⁵³² all³⁹⁵⁶ passed¹³³⁰ through¹²²³ the³⁵⁸⁸ sea;²²⁸¹

1  Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

2  And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

4  And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

5  But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

6  Now¹¹⁶¹ these things⁵⁰²³ were¹⁰⁹⁶ our²²⁵⁷ examples,⁵¹⁷⁹ to the intent we²²⁴⁸ should not lust after^{1511, 3361, 1938} evil things,²⁵⁵⁶ as²⁵³¹ they also²⁵⁴⁸ lusted.¹⁹³⁷

6  Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

7  Neither³³⁶⁶ be¹⁰⁹⁶ ye idolaters,¹⁴⁹⁶ as²⁵³¹ were some⁵¹⁰⁰ of them;⁸⁴⁶ as⁵⁶¹³ it is written,¹¹²⁵ The³⁵⁸⁸ people²⁹⁹² sat down²⁵²³ to eat⁵³¹⁵ and²⁵³² drink,⁴⁰⁹⁵ and²⁵³² rose up⁴⁵⁰ to play.³⁸¹⁵

7  저희 중에 어떤 이들과 같이 너희는 우상 숭배하는 자가(ye idolaters,G1496) 되지 말라 기록된바 백성이 앉아서 먹고 마시며 일어나서 뛰논다 함과 같으니라

7  Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

7  너희는 그들 중 어떤 사람들처럼 우상숭배자가 되지 말라. 기록된 바와 같으니, 곧 "그 백성이 앉아서는 먹고, 마시며, 또 일어서서는 뛰논다."한 것이라.

8  Neither³³⁶⁶ let us commit fornication,⁴²⁰³ as²⁵³¹ some⁵¹⁰⁰ of them⁸⁴⁶ committed,⁴²⁰³ and²⁵³² fell⁴⁰⁹⁸ in¹⁷²² one³³⁹¹ day²²⁵⁰ three and twenty thousand.^{5140, 1501, 5505}

8  저희 중에 어떤 이들이 간음하다가(committed,G4203) 하G3391루G2250에 이만 삼천 명이 죽었나니 우리는 저희와 같이 간음하지(let us commit fornication,G4203) 말자

8  Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

8   우리는 그들 중 어떤 사람들이 행한 것처럼 음행하지 말자. 그들은 그러다가 하루에 이만 삼천 명이 죽었느니라.

이만 삼천 명: - 민_25:9에는 염병으로 죽은 자가 24,000명이었다고 기록되어있습니다. 이는 사도바울 말씀과 서로 모순되는 것처럼 생각되나 그러나 사도 바울께서는 하루에 23,000명이 죽었다고 언급하였습니다. 즉 민_25:4절에 언급되어 있는 백성의 두령들 제외한 숫자입니다.

The Companion Bible: three and twenty thousand. See Num_25:1-9, where the number is given as 24,000, but this included the princes of the people of v.4.

10  저희 중에 어떤 이들이 원망하다가G1111 멸망시키는 자G3644에게 멸망하였나니G622 너희는 저희와 같이 원망하지 말라

10  Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

10   너희는 그들 중 어떤 사람들이 불평한 것처럼 불평하지 말라. 그들은 그러다가 멸망시키는 자에게 멸망당하였느니라.

11  Now¹¹⁶¹ all³⁹⁵⁶ these things⁵⁰²³ happened⁴⁸¹⁹ unto them¹⁵⁶⁵ for examples:⁵¹⁷⁹ and¹¹⁶¹ they are written¹¹²⁵ for⁴³¹⁴ our²²⁵⁷ admonition,³⁵⁵⁹ upon¹⁵¹⁹ whom³⁷³⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ ends⁵⁰⁵⁶ of the³⁵⁸⁸ world¹⁶⁵ are come.²⁶⁵⁸

11  저희에게 당한 이런 일이 거울이 되고G5179 또한 말(endsG5056)세를(of theG3588 worldG165) 만난(are come.G2658) 우리의 경계(admonition,G3559)로 기록하였느니라(hey are writtenG1125)

11  Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

11  이제 그들에게 일어난 이 모든 일이 본보기가 되고 또 세상의 끝날들을 당한 우리에게 권면으로 기록되었느니라.

12  Wherefore⁵⁶²⁰ let him that thinketh¹³⁸⁰ he standeth²⁴⁷⁶ take heed⁹⁹¹ lest³³⁶¹ he fall.⁴⁰⁹⁸

12  그런즉 선 줄로(he standethG2476) 생각하는 자는(let him that thinkethG1380) 넘어질G4098까G3361 조심하라(take heedG991)

12  Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

12  그러므로 서 있는 줄로 생각하는 사람은 넘어지지 아니하도록 주의하라.

13  There hath no³⁷⁵⁶ temptation³⁹⁸⁶ taken²⁹⁸³ you⁵²⁰⁹ but¹⁵⁰⁸ such as is common to man:⁴⁴² but¹¹⁶¹ God²³¹⁶ is faithful,⁴¹⁰³ who³⁷³⁹ will not³⁷⁵⁶ suffer¹⁴³⁹ you⁵²⁰⁹ to be tempted³⁹⁸⁵ above⁵²²⁸ that³⁷³⁹ ye are able;¹⁴¹⁰ but²³⁵ will with⁴⁸⁶² the³⁵⁸⁸ temptation³⁹⁸⁶ also²⁵³² make⁴¹⁶⁰ a way to escape,¹⁵⁴⁵ that ye⁵²⁰⁹ may be able¹⁴¹⁰ to bear⁵²⁹⁷ it.

13  사람이 감당할 시험(such as is common to man:G442) 밖에는 너희에게 당한 것이 없나니 오직 하나님은G2316 미쁘사(is faithful,G4103) 너희가 감당치(ye are able;G1410) 못할(aboveG5228) 시험 당함을(to be temptedG3985) 허락지 아니하시고 시험 당할 즈음에 또한 피할 길을(a way to escape,G1545) 내사 너희로 능히 감당하게G5297 하시느니라

13  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

13 사람이 감당할 수 있는 시험 외에는 너희가 당한 것이 없나니, 하나님(엘로힘)께서는 신실하셔서 너희가 감당할 수 있는 것 이상으로 시험을 당하지 않게 하시고 시험을 당하면 피할 길도 마련하셔서 너희로 능히 감당케 하시느니라.

14  Wherefore,¹³⁵⁵ my³⁴⁵⁰ dearly beloved,²⁷ flee⁵³⁴³ from⁵⁷⁵ idolatry.¹⁴⁹⁵

14  Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

14  그러므로 나의 참으로 사랑하는 자들아, 우상숭배를 피하라.

15  I speak³⁰⁰⁴ as⁵⁶¹³ to wise men;⁵⁴²⁹ judge²⁹¹⁹ ye⁵²¹⁰ what³⁷³⁹ I say.⁵³⁴⁶

15  나는 지혜 있는 자들에게(to wise men;G5429) 말함과 같이 하노니 너희는 내 이르는 말을 스스로 판단하라G2919

15  I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.

15  내가 지혜있는 사람들에게 말하듯 하노니, 내가 너희에게 말하는 것을 판단하라.

16  The³⁵⁸⁸ cup⁴²²¹ of blessing²¹²⁹ which³⁷³⁹ we bless,²¹²⁷ is²⁰⁷⁶ it not³⁷⁸⁰ the communion²⁸⁴² of the³⁵⁸⁸ blood¹²⁹ of Christ?⁵⁵⁴⁷ The³⁵⁸⁸ bread⁷⁴⁰ which³⁷³⁹ we break,²⁸⁰⁶ is²⁰⁷⁶ it not³⁷⁸⁰ the communion²⁸⁴² of the³⁵⁸⁸ body⁴⁹⁸³ of Christ?⁵⁵⁴⁷

16  The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?

17  For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

17 이는 우리 많은 사람이 한 빵이요, 한 몸이기 때문이며, 우리가 모두 그 한 빵에 참여하기 때문이라.

18  육신을G4561 따라 난G2596 이스라엘을G2474 보라G991 제물을(of theG3588 sacrificesG2378) 먹는 자들이(they which eatG2068) 제단에(of theG3588 altar?G2379) 참예하는자들이(partakersG2844) 아니냐(areG1526 notG3780)

18  Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?

18 육신을 따르는 이스라엘을 보라, 제물을 먹는 사람들이 제단에 참여하는 자들이 아니냐?

19  What⁵¹⁰¹ say⁵³⁴⁶ I then?³⁷⁶⁷ that³⁷⁵⁴ the idol¹⁴⁹⁷ is²⁰⁷⁶ any thing,⁵¹⁰⁰ or^{2228 (3754)} that which is offered in sacrifice to idols¹⁴⁹⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ any thing?⁵¹⁰⁰

19  그런즉 내가 무엇을 말하느뇨 우상의 제물은G1494 무엇이며 우상은 무엇이라 하느뇨

19  What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?

19  그런즉 내가 무엇을 말하느냐? 우상은 무엇이며 또 우상들에게 바친 제물은 무엇이냐?

20  But²³⁵ I say, that³⁷⁵⁴ the things which³⁷³⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Gentiles¹⁴⁸⁴ sacrifice,²³⁸⁰ they sacrifice²³⁸⁰ to devils,¹¹⁴⁰ and²⁵³² not³⁷⁵⁶ to God:²³¹⁶ and¹¹⁶¹ I would²³⁰⁹ not³⁷⁵⁶ that ye⁵²⁰⁹ should have¹⁰⁹⁶ fellowship²⁸⁴⁴ with devils.¹¹⁴⁰

20  대저 이방인(theG3588 GentilesG1484)의 제사하는G2380 것은 귀신에게(to devils,G1140) 하는 것이요 하나님께G2316 제사하는 것이G2380 아니니 나는 너희가 귀신과G1140 교제하는 자G2844 되기를 원치 아니하노라

20  But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

20  그러나 내가 말하노니 이방인들이 제사하는 것은 마귀들에게 하는 것이지 하나님(야훼)께 하는 것이 아니니라. 나는 너희가 마귀들과 교제하는 자들이 되는 것을 바라지 아니하노라.

21  Ye cannot^{1410, 3756} drink⁴⁰⁹⁵ the cup⁴²²¹ of the Lord,²⁹⁶² and²⁵³² the cup⁴²²¹ of devils:¹¹⁴⁰ ye cannot^{1410, 3756} be partakers³³⁴⁸ of the Lord's²⁹⁶² table,⁵¹³² and²⁵³² of the table⁵¹³² of devils.¹¹⁴⁰

21  너희가 주의G2962 잔과 귀신의 잔을 겸하여 마시지 못하고 주의G2962 상과 귀신의 상에 겸하여 참예치 못하리라

21  Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

21  너희는 주(야훼)의 잔과 마귀들의 잔을 함께 마실 수 없으며, 너희는 주(야훼)의 식탁과 마귀들의 식탁에 함께 참여할 수 없느니라.

22  Do we⁽²²²⁸⁾ provoke the Lord to jealousy?^{3863, 3588, 2962} are²⁰⁷⁰ we⁽³³⁶¹⁾ stronger²⁴⁷⁸ than he?⁸⁴⁶

22  그러면 우리가 주를 노여워하시게 하겠느냐(provoke the Lord to jealousy?G3863, G3588, G2962)우리가 주보다(than he?G846) 강한G2478 자냐

22  Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

22  그렇다면 우리가 주(야훼)를 질투하시게 하겠느냐? 우리가 주(그분)보다 강하냐?

23  All things³⁹⁵⁶ are lawful¹⁸³² for me,³⁴²⁷ but²³⁵ all things³⁹⁵⁶ are not expedient:^{4851, 3756} all things³⁹⁵⁶ are lawful¹⁸³² for me,³⁴²⁷ but²³⁵ all things³⁹⁵⁶ edify³⁶¹⁸ not.³⁷⁵⁶

23  모든 것이 가하나( are lawfulG1832) 모든 것이 유익한 것이 아니요(are not expedient:G4851, G3756) 모든 것이 가하나 모든 것이 덕을 세우는 것이G3618 아니니

23  All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

23  모든 것이 내게 합법적이라고 해서 모든 것이 유익한 것이 아니요, 모든 것이 내게 합법적이라고 해서 다 세워 주는 것이 아니니라.

합법적이라고 해서:  고전_6:12, 고전_8:9; 롬_14:15

24  Let no man³³⁶⁷ seek²²¹² his own,¹⁴³⁸ but²³⁵ every man¹⁵³⁸ another's⁽²⁰⁸⁷⁾ wealth.

24  누구든지 자기의 유익을 구치G2212 말고 남의 유익을 구하라

24  Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.

24 누구나 자기 자신의 유익을 구하지 말고 각자 다른 사람의 유익을 구하라.

25  무릇 시장G3111에서 파는 것은 양심을G4893 위하여 묻지G350  말고 먹으라

25  Whatsoever is sold in the meat market, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:

25  고기시장에서 파는 것은 무엇이나 양심을 위하여 묻지 말고 먹으라.

27  If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.

28  But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that showed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof:

28 그러나 만일 어떤 사람이 너희에게 말하기를 "이것은 우상들에게 바친 제물이다."라고 하거든 알려준 그 사람과 양심을 위하여 먹지 말라. 이는 땅과 거기에 충만한 것이 다 주(야훼)의 것임이니라.

29  ⁽¹¹⁶¹⁾ Conscience,⁴⁸⁹³ I say,³⁰⁰⁴ not³⁷⁸⁰ thine own,¹⁴³⁸ but²³⁵ of⁽³⁵⁸⁸⁾ the³⁵⁸⁸ other:²⁰⁸⁷ for¹⁰⁶³ why²⁴⁴⁴ is my³⁴⁵⁰ liberty¹⁶⁵⁷ judged²⁹¹⁹ of⁵²⁵⁹ another²⁴³ man's conscience?⁴⁸⁹³

29  내가 말한 양심은 너희의 것이 아니요 남의 것이니 어찌하여 내 자유가 남의 양심으로 말미암아 판단을 받으리요

29  Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?

29  내가 말한 양심은 네 자신의 것이 아니라 남의 것이니, 어찌하여 나의 자유가 다른 사람의 양심으로 판단을 받겠느냐?

30  For¹¹⁶¹ if¹⁴⁸⁷ I¹⁴⁷³ by grace⁵⁴⁸⁵ be a partaker,³³⁴⁸ why⁵¹⁰¹ am I evil spoken of⁹⁸⁷ for⁵²²⁸ that³⁷³⁹ for which I¹⁴⁷³ give thanks?²¹⁶⁸

30  만일 내가 감사함으로G5485 참예하면 어찌하여 내가 감사하다 하는 것에 대하여 비방을 받으리요G987

30  For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

30  그러나 만일 내가 감사함으로 참여하면 내가 감사하는 것에 대하여 왜 비난을 받겠느냐?
